Daily Dynasty Update – October 17th

  • Seattle receiver Percy Harvin will start practicing this week. It’s a great sign of Harvin’s progress but also means this week might be the last week you have a legitimate shot to trade for him.
  • RGIII plans on running more. In the short-term, this could be a boon for Griffin’s fantasy value but you have to wonder how sustainable it is, especially in dynasty circles.
  • Patriots receiver Danny Amendola has officially been diagnosed as concussed. You have to wonder how Amendola keeps getting hurt. His value is also all over the place in dynasty leagues – some probably think there’s still something there and would still want a decent return. While others might be ready to rid themselves of this walking injury report. His status in fantasy, in general, is a true toss-up.
  • Arizona running back Ryan Williams has been a healthy scratch in each game this season. It’s safe to drop him in all formats, even deeper leagues.
  • Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo is officially done for the season. But any astute dynasty player knows this would be a perfect time to pick him off someone else’s team, especially if they’re in it to win it this year.

Dynasty Recap – Week 6 – Cowboys down Redskins, 31-16

  • Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had an off night passing, going 19/39 for 246 yards and a pick but still added 77 yards on the ground. There will be better games but rushing is always going to be an RG3 advantage.
  • Redskins receiver Pierre Garçon had an incredible 15 targets. He only managed six catches for 69 yards but Garçon will continue to contribute even though he’s in a run-first offense.
  • Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle ran for 17 yards on 11 carries after replacing DeMarco Murray. Randle is Murray’s primary backup but still doesn’t look like he’s able to carry the load. The Cowboys can, and should, do better either in the draft or free agency to upgrade the position. Don’t waste your time on Randle.
  • Cowboys safety Barry Church continues his solid season with nine more tackles and a pass defended. He had 47 tackles on the season which would put him well over 100. He’s also averaging almost a pass defended per game. After sitting out most of last year, Church should be a solid dynasty fantasy leaguer in the Dallas offense.

Dynasty Recap – Week 4 – Redskins get first win over Raiders, 24-14

  • Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had his first sub-300 yard game this year – but the Redskins got their first win. The team also ran the ball just as much as it passed which is more like the Redskins way. Griffin will still be a value but it’ll be in small doses.
  • Speaking of the running game, Redskins running back Alfred Morris had 4.4 YPC after 16 carries but was knocked out with an injury to his ribs. Roy Helu only averaged 3.3 YPC so Morris’ job is plenty safe. Morris is a guy to own in dynasty circles.
  • Washington receiver Leonard Hankerson has established himself as the receiver to have opposite Pierre Garcon. He had just as many targets as Garcon (7) to go along with his four catches and 49 yards. Again, Washington is a run-first team so a second receiver in this offense won’t have nearly the same value as others but Hankerson is someone to stash for dynasty purposes.
  • I’d just avoid anyone on offense in Oakland. Done and done.
  • Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan had two more sacks to give him five for the year. Just 25 and signed through 2014, Kerrigan is a strong play for sacks / big play IDP dynasty leagues.
