- It was the LeSean McCoy show as he ran amok in the snow. McCoy went off for 217 yards on 29 carries and two touchdowns. This season should leave little doubt as to who is the top dynasty running back.
- Lions running back Joique Bell also took advantage of the snow, along with a last-minute injury to Reggie Bush to have 69 yards rushing to go along with four catches and 58 yards. He also added a touchdown. Bell is a must-have handcuff as he’s proven he can handle the load and Bush just can’t seem to stay healthy.
- Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch had 10 more tackles to give him 107 on the year. It’s his fifth straight season of 100+ tackles. Tulloch is in the prime of his career and isn’t going anywhere soon.

Dynasty Recap – Week 13 – Lions destroy Packers, 40-10
- Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford had a very Matthew Stafford game, throwing for 330 yards on 22 of 35 passing with three touchdowns but two interceptions and a fumble lost. This is the Matthew Stafford dynasty leaguers will have to live with.
- Lions running back Reggie Bush had 117 yards rushing and 65 yards receiving on five catches with a touchdown. He did lose a fumble but that didn’t stop him. You have to wonder how Reggie’s fumble issues will affect his play going forward. Backup Joique Bell had 94 yards rushing on 19 carries with 34 yards on three receptions and another touchdown.
- Lions receiver Calvin Johnson had 101 yards on six catches and a touchdown. He’s the best and I have a man crush on him and I don’t care who knows it.
- A bright spot for the Packers was safety Morgan Burnett had nine tackles, two fumble recoveries and a touchdown. His value only increases as the Packers allow more yards and points.
- Lions rookie defensive end Ziggy Ansah had two sacks for the second straight game after missing a month. Playing in that system, in which Cliff Avril was a star, should only increase Ansah’s value along with his age and contract.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Bucs surprise Lions, 24-21
- Bucs rookie quarterback Mike Glennon continues his impressive run, going 14 of 21 for 247 yards, an 11.8 YPA and two touchdowns with zero turnovers.
- A week after (allegedly) being benched for losing a fumble, Lions running back Reggie Bush was back to normal with 85 yards rushing and four catches for 17 yards.
- Lions receiver Nate Burleson picked up where he left off, catching seven passes for 77 yards. Burleson’s getting up there in age and has a pricey cap number next year but is a solid WR4 with WR3 upside when healthy and playing in Detroit.
- Lions rookie lineman Ezekiel Ansah had two sacks in his first action in a month. He’s a good one.
- Bucs linebacker Lavonte David led his team in tackles with 12 along with an interception and pass defended. He’s a bona fide LB1.
Dynasty Recap – Week 8 – Lions slip past Cowboys 31-30
- Calvin Johnson had a very good day.
- Lions running back Reggie Bush had a good day as well with eight catches for 30 yards along with 92 yards rushing. He’s still a risky dynasty play since he manages to get hurt every other game.
- Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle did nothing to stand out replacing DeMarco Murray. He managed just 26 yards on 14 carries. He added three catches for 18 yards.
- Lions receiver Kris Durham led the Lions in targets (behind Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush) with four catches and 54 yards.
- Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee had another stellar day with 10 tackles, two passes defended and two interceptions. He remains a LB1 in dynasty leagues for many years to come.
Daily Dynasty Update – September 26th
Everybody’s working for the weekend…
- Despite splitting carries and despite the recent fumble issues, the Broncos are preparing for Montee Ball to be a top-tier running back. Now might be a good time to pick him off someone’s roster if you’re playing for next year. Ball is holding steady at 26th in our dynasty running back rankings.
- Seattle receiver Percy Harvin’s rehab is coming along on schedule. Of course, hip injuries are not an easy fix but there may not be a better flyer right now. Tentatively, Harvin’s scheduled to be back around Week 10 or 11. Harvin is still a top-10 option in dynasty ranks.
- Cincinnati running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis was limited in practice. It’s almost as if the fantasy football gods planned it this way. Gio Bernard will most likely get a majority of snaps this week. Bernard is a top-15 running back option in dynasty ranks.
- Despite Detroit running back Reggie Bush being inactive last week, Mikel Leshoure saw no action. However, the Lions also turned down trade offers just last week for Leshoure so they may have a master plan. He’s a good taxi squad candidate at this point.
- Washington receiver Leonard Hankerson has started the last two weeks opposite Pierre Garcon and has established himself over Josh Morgan. Hankerson is four years younger than Morgan and is under contract until through next year while Morgan is a free agent after 2013. Hankerson gets the nod.
Don’t forget 49ers-Rams tonight and check back here tomorrow for Friday’s dynasty update.
Week 3 Dynasty Recap – Lions slip by Redskins 27-20
- The Washington offense continues to fire on all cylinders. Running back Alfred Morris averaged five yards a carry but only had 15 of them.
- Washington receiver Pierre Garçon was targeted 13 times and grabbed eight of them. He’ll continue to be Washington’s top target in the RG3 era.
- Defensively for Washington, Perry Riley had 10 tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a pass defended. He continues to be one of the bright spots for dynasty fantasy owners on an otherwise dismal Washington defense.
- Joique Bell did his best Reggie Bush impression and had 3.2 YPC while racking up 69 yards receiving. He had 132 total and continues to be a high on the handcuff list.
- For Detroit, Ezekiel Ansah continues to make people forget about Cliff Avril, tallying two more sacks today and a forced fumble.
Daily Dynasty Update – August 5th
Finally, football is back.
- From last night’s game, Lamar Miller looked solid (besides the botched hand off) with two runs of 10 and 11 yards. Miller is rated 13th in the latest running back ranks.
- Detroit running back Reggie Bush has been everything he was supposed to be – catching balls and getting top-line speed very quickly. Reggie is a solid RB2 at his current 20th ranking. But if you built a strong dynasty team around him, he could be a low-end RB1 in PPR leagues.
- Eddie Lacy looked good in Green Bay’s scrimmage. He’s set up for a lot of goal-line work as a RB2 in their high powered offense. Meanwhile, Johnathan Franklin did not impress so temper your expectations.
- Chicago’s Alshon Jeffery has firmly established himself as the #2 in Chicago. If Cutler gets up to 600 pass attempts, he’ll need to throw to someone else besides Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte. Plus, Brandon Marshall isn’t getting any younger at 29.
- Tennessee rookie receiver Justin Hunter had two drops in practice. Hunter is still only a taxi-squad level prospect until he can be reliable.
- Cincy rookie tight end Tyler Eifert made the most of AJ Green sitting out of practice. Eifert needs to be the first rookie tight end off your board and could be a top 10 pick in dynasty leagues.
- On the flip side, Dallas rookie tight end Gavin Escobar has done nothing to stand out. Escobar was entering a good situation with Dallas’ pass-happy offense and learning from one of the best tight ends in history. Use caution.
- Jacksonville rookie receiver Ace Sanders caught a couple of first downs in practice. We looked at Sanders in-dept here.
Happy Monday everybody.
The Matthew Stafford Contract Extension
Contract extensions don’t usually mean much to fantasy football re-drafters but they do when Matthew Stafford is your franchise quarterback in a dynasty league. Stafford just signed a contract extension through 2017. While this news is great for Stafford’s dynasty value it’s especially great for Calvin Johnson’s, who’s signed through 2019. To have stability in the quarterback position is extremely important and should keep CJ at the top of dynasty big boards. Hopefully Stafford can keep getting 200 targets to Johnson for many years to come. Needless to say it also has positive value for other Lions like Ryan Broyles, who has the potential to be a very good #2 WR in the Lions offense for many years to come. Now would especially be a good time to buy low since he’s recovering from ACL surgery. It also solidifies Brandon Pettigrew as a top-15 tight end option for at least 2-3 years and makes Reggie Bush a solid top-20 option at running back for at least this year.
