Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Vikings beat Redskins, 34-27

  • Redskins running back Alfred Morris continued to romp with 139 yards on 26 carries for a 5+ YPA. Good things happen when Morris gets the ball. You can lock him in as a good, young runner in a very fantasy-friendly offense.
  • Redskins tight end Jordan Reed had the second most targets with nine and hauled in six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown. Reed should be a top two option in the Redskins pass game for many years to come.
  • Vikings replacement tight end John Carlson led the team in targets with seven which just shows you how random the Vikings passing game is. No one can be trusted right now and there’s not even a dynasty hold except Patterson.
  • On defense, Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway had his best tackle game of the year with 16. Greenway has a good, but not great, year fantasy-wise. Greenway will be 31 next year and Minnesota may want to revamp a defense that’s currently 30th in yardage allowed.

Daily Dynasty Update – November 6th

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Bears beat Packers, 27-20

  • Packers running back Eddie Lacy showed he could carry the load with 150 yards on 22 carries for a 6+ YPC. It’s good to see Lacy producing without Aaron Rodgers’ protection.
  • Bears running back Matt Forte had 125 yards rushing to go along with 54 yards on five catches. Forte is having a lights-out season. The hope is he can keep it up for 2-3 years.
  • Packers safety Morgan Burnett had 10 tackles to keep up a 100 tackle pace. Burnett had a pass defended to go along with it. After sitting out with injury the first month, Burnett has returned to form and should still be considered a DB1 in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Colts come back against Texans, 27-24

  • Houston quarterback Case Keenum threw for 350 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions on 20 of 34 passes. While the Indianapolis doesn’t have a great defense, it’s an impressive line against any team. Keenum could be a good young quarterback to pick up for your dynasty team if you can’t snag a quarterback in the draft.
  • Colts running back Trent RIchardson only had eight carries with Indianapolis behind most of the game. However, he only had 2.5 YPC, continuing a bad trend of not getting over 4.0. It might be time to sell high on Richardson.
  • Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton led the team with 12 targets, nine catches, 121 yards and three touchdowns. While the Texans season has gone down the tubes, the defense has still produced with a top defense in the league. Hilton is legit.

Daily Recap – Week 9 – Patriots destroy Steelers

  • Patriots quarterback Tom Brady finally woke up and went off for 432 yards and four touchdowns. Even with his age, Brady is in a pass-first offense and should be around for at least 2-3 years. He’s still a fine pickup in dynasty leagues.
  • The recipient of some of those yards was rookie Aaron Dobson who had five receptions for 130 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets. If Dobson can improve his catch rate, he’ll be the beneficiary for a long time.
  • Patriots running back Stevan Ridley also made a bit of a comeback with 115 rushing yards on 26 carries. Ridley will probably never be a top-tier option at running back but he should provide value with his youth and opportunity.
  • Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones had another two sacks to bring his season total up to 8.5. The second-year defensive end should also continue to improve and has an unusually high (for a defensive linemen) 50 tackles in nine games.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Browns upset Ravens, 24-18

  • The Ravens continue to use little of Ray Rice, frustrating fantasy owners. Rice had 17 rushing yards on 11 carries and added three catches for 21 yards. Now actually might be a good time to buy-low as the Ravens are far more likely to make a change with offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell instead of Ray Rice, who signed a five-year extension before the 2012 season.
  • Also a disappointing day in the Ravens passing game as receiver Torrey Smith had only 78 yards on five catches even though Joe Flacco had 41 pass attempts. Smith is still a premier dynasty receiver but won’t have explosions every week.
  • Browns safety TJ Ward had another productive week with seven tackles, a sack and two tackles for a loss. Ward continues to play well and is on pace for over 100 tackles. Ward will continue to be an anchor in a young, strong Cleveland defense.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Eagles obliterate Raiders, 49-20

  • Eagles quarterback Nick Foles did some very good things, throwing for seven touchdowns and 406 yards on just 28 pass attempts for a ridiculous 14.5 YPA. While it would be nice to keep that pace up, fantasy owners should be happy to have half that. But with more play like that, Foles should lock up the job for 2014 and beyond. Stay tuned.
  • In a hopeful sign, Eagles rookie tight end Zach Ertz tied for the team lead with six targets and hauled in five catches for 42 yards and a touchdown. Let’s hope this is the kickstart of Ertz’s promising career.
  • Raiders backup running back Rashad Jennings had a big day with 102 yards rushing on 15 carries and seven catches for 74 yards. Jennings should be a fine addition for the rest of 2013 but shouldn’t be considered for next year unless the Raiders foolishly continue on with Darren McFadden.
  • Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks had a productive day with 10 tackles and a sack. It’s the second game in a row with double-digit tackles.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Seahawks edge Bucs, 27-24

  • Bucs rookie quarterback Mike Glennon had a decent day in the almost-upset of Seattle. He went 17 of 23 for 168 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers. If Glennon keeps playing like that, he could make Tampa think twice about selecting a quarterback in next April’s draft.
  • Fellow rookie Mike James also showed some promise with 158 yards on 28 carries for a 5.6 YPC.
  • Meanwhile, Marshawn Lynch showed what can happen when you put the ball in his hands with 125 yards on 21 carries.
  • Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner had a good day with 11 tackles to go with 1.5 sacks. Wagner is still a LB1 for his production and youth and now may actually be a good buy-low time.
  • Tampa safety Mark Barron had a very productive day with 11 tackles and two passes defended. Seattle was in comeback mode, which meant more passing opportunities, but Barron figures to be involved no matter what.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Chiefs beat Bills, 23-13

  • Bills running back C.J. Spiller finally showed flashes of what he’s capable of with 116 yards rushing on 12 carries. He added two receptions for 39 yards. Spiller is still capable of being a RB1 when healthy.
  • The same could be said for Jamaal Charles with 90 yards rushing and six catches.
  • Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe had seven catches for 67 yards. I can’t imagine that kind of line to last with Alex Smith at quarterback. Continue to hold Bowe at bay until he a) changes teams or b) KC makes a quarterback change.
  • Bills rookie linebacker Kiko Alonso had eight tackles to go along with a sack and two tackles for a loss. He might be the next Luke Kuechly. See what it would take to own him in your dynasty league.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Cowboys squeak by Vikings, 27-23

  • Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had another Romo-esque day with 337 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. It’s hard to argue about too many better options at quarterback in dynasty leagues.
  • Cowboys receiver Cole Beasley had nine targets for six catches and 68 yards. Keep an eye on Beasley in dynasty leagues as Miles Austin could be expendable after the season.
  • Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson only had four tackles but that’s only because Dallas threw the ball 51 times. Henderson should continue to be a tackle-machine for the foreseeable future.
