Dynasty Impact: After showing no confidence in Rueben Randle, the Giants pick what many scouts thought was the second best receiver in the draft. Not as tall as Watkins or Evans, ODB has great leaping ability and superior hands. Eli Manning dynasty owners should rejoice that they finally have a compliment to Victor Cruz. Cruz should benefit with less attention with Beckham being in the discussion for second receiver taken off the board in dynasty rookie drafts.

Daily Dynasty Update – May 2nd
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson says he’s at 80%. There’s a long way to go until the season starts and no one should doubt AP’s ability to recover from his groin injury but he’s also 29 and will have to break down at some point. Be cautious.- Eli Manning should be back to 100% before the season starts but is entering a make-or-break year in fantasy and real life. The Giants added running back Rashad Jennings and will probably add more targets during the draft.
- With recent indications that the Bucs will draft a quarterback early, its assumed that Mike Glennon is not long for Tampa. Although as someone pointed out, it’s not like Glennon had a bad rookie year.

- Slight change at the top as Cam Newton and Drew Brees, switch spots. Your new top five is Rodgers, Luck, Newton, Brees, Stafford.
- Your risers include Miami’s Ryan Tannehill, up two spots to 15th. Tannehill got high marks from two of our three sources but, personally, he needs to show something this year to keep this spot. Otherwise, expect Miami to start looking forward.
- Biggest drop of the month was Eli Manning. Now 33 and losing his (former) #1 receiver, Manning will need to hit the brakes on the downward trend he’s had the last few years. His touchdown totals have gone from 31 to 29 to 26 to 18 over the last four years. The 18 represents his lowest total since his rookie year. Yowza.
Daily Dynasty Update – January 23rd
- Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is set for groin surgery today. It’ll be the third straight off-season Peterson has gone under the knife but, as we’ve seen the last two years, it doesn’t seem to faze him. He’ll be ready for camp.
- Expect the Giants to have a more up-tempo offense with new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo. This points the arrow up for Eli, and anyone else in the Giants offense, in 2014 and beyond.
- Expect more out of Zach Ertz in 2014 and beyond as he’ll have full camps and pre-seasons to get in a groove.
- The Packers will give Brandon Bostick a look at tight end this off-season. His game is similar to incumbent Jermichael Finley’s with his athleticism and speed. Any tight end in that offense is worth a look. Bostick is young and if he has any ability to hold on to the ball, he’ll be an upgrade on Finley. Get him now if you can.
- The Ravens will not re-sign tight end Ed Dickson who has been a major disappointment in dynasty circles. He entered the 2012 season as the starter only to see Dennis Pitta emerge. Then had a golden opportunity to bounce back after Pitta’s injury before the 2013 season only to see Baltimore sign re-tread Dallas Clark. Dickson’s days of contributing to your fantasy team are over.
- The same will be said for Santonio Holmes of the Jets. Holmes has been an even bigger disappointment than Dickson where he was often injured and had his four lowest yardage seasons while in New York. Fun fact: not one of his seasons in New York was better than any of his four in Pittsburgh. Avoid in your dynasty leagues.

- The top five remains the same with Rodgers, Luck, Brees, Newton, and Stafford. Luck did gain some ground though.
- The Nick Foles rise has finally settled in at #10. I think you could do a lot worse with Foles as your QB1 in dynasty leagues.
- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is the other big riser going up to 14th from 17th. Rivers found his touch again and has some exciting new weapons in Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead. It will be interesting to see how he does with the recent departure of offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt.
- Giants quarterback Eli Manning continues his downward slide to 19th from 15th. He will be losing receiver Hakeem Nicks in the off-season and has little-to-no running game for protection.

- No major changes in the first dozen. Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and Andrew Luck still make up the top three.
- The big riser continues to be Nick Foles who is now up to #13. Looking at the 12 ahead of him, it makes sense. Jay Cutler also moves up a bit thanks to his new contract which insures he’ll be surrounded by top-notch talent for a bit.
- The drops continue for Eli Manning who will have a new offensive coordinator next year. Keep an eye out for that one. Terrelle Pryor also drops thanks to the likelihood that Oakland drafts a quarterback with their first pick.
Dynasty Recap – Week 15 – Seahawks blank Giants, 23-0
- Giants quarterback Eli Manning was just bad. Going 18 of 31 for 156 yards, a third of his incompletions were interceptions (five). If your dynasty league success is contingent on Eli, you need to upgrade. Now.
- Giants running back Andre Brown was equally as bad, going 17 yards on 11 carries. This will do nothing to dispel the notion that Brown can’t carry the load.
- Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch struggled in the running game, only getting 47 yards on 16 carries but made up for it in the passing game with 73 yards on six catches. Lynch should still be a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 heading in to next year.
- Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner had another outstanding day with 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a tackle for a loss. He’s a LB1 in all dynasty formats.
Dynasty Recap – Week 5 – Eagles down Giants, 36-21
- With Giants quarterback Eli Manning averaging a whopping 40 pass attempts a game, the targets are coming in droves. This week it was Rueben Randle leading the way with 13 to go with six catches and 96 yards. With Hakeem Nicks expected to leave via free agency this year, Randle is the heir apparent to Nick’s spot and should be targeted in dynasty circles.
- Running back David Wilson had only six carries before leaving with an injury. On the season, Wilson is averaging 3.3 YPC after averaging 5.0 last year. Now could possibly be the best time to pick Wilson off as a buy-low candidate from those fed up with his lack of production.
- Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson is back to his usual boom-or-bust self with seven catches for 132 and a touchdown. He seems to be the favorite no matter who’s at quarterback, totaling 12 targets when the next highest total was LeSean McCoy at eight.
- Speaking of targets, rookie Zach Ertz had a career-high three targets and two catches. It remains to be seen where Ertz will fit in as incumbent Brent Celek is still entrenched as the starter and has three more years on his contract. Ertz could also be a buy-low candidate.
- Quarterback Nick Foles will audition for teams as he takes over for the injured Mike Vick. However, it would seem that, with so many quarterback in 2014’s rookie class, Foles won’t necessarily be able to cash in a la Matt Flynn. I don’t see Foles breaking out.
Dynasty Recap – Week 4 – Chiefs down Giants, 31-7
- The Giants as a team continue to look bad. Eli Manning threw for less than 50% with a 5.9 YPA. Manning needs improvement on his line and running game before he gets back to sea level.
- Additionally, the Giants played from behind most of the game which eliminated the running game. David Wilson only had 13 carries which won’t be productive for anyone. If he doesn’t get a chance to prove himself, he’ll never fulfill his full potential.
- The lone bright spot for New York was Victor Cruz and his 16 targets and 10 catches. Re-signed in the off-season, Cruz is set up to be a dynasty stud for many years to come.
- Chiefs tight end Sean McGrath had five catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. This is just a preview of what Travis Kelce can do if he ever gets healthy.
- Chiefs receiver Donny Avery only caught two balls on 10 targets. Any illusions about Avery contributing to the offense should cease. Kansas City should continue to look for a second receiver.
- Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali was the linebacker du jour with two sacks and a tackle for a loss. With the exception of Derrick Johnson and his tackles, there is no consistent linebacker in Kansas City to roll with.
Week 3 Dynasty Recap – Panthers destroy Giants, 38-0
- There was nothing going on offense for New York. It might be time to jump ship on the Giants veterans for dynasty purposes. Guys like Hakeem Nicks or Eli Manning might net you some value.
- One bright spot was safety Ryan Mundy who racked up nine tackles. Mundy took over the starting job for Stevie Brown earlier this year. With Brown out for the season, Mundy is worth a flyer.
- For Carolina, DeAngelo Williams racked up 120 yards rushing. SELL. NOW. There won’t be a better time than right now to trade the 30-year old Williams for something.
- Greg Hardy racked up three sacks for Carolina, proving just how valuable he is to Carolina’s front seven. Hardy is easily a top five defensive linemen in dynasty fantasy football.
