- Saints quarterback Drew Brees was surgical, going 30 of 42 for 313 yards and four touchdowns. Like Peyton Manning, age is an issue with Brees but could be worth a championship or two in your dynasty leagues.
- Saints receiver Marques Colston had his best game of the year with nine catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Colston will be 31 next year and is headed to the back-loaded portion of his contract. His value takes a big hit if he doesn’t play in New Orleans. Futhermore, there’s really no consistent receiving option in New Orleans besides Jimmy Graham.
- Panthers tight end Greg Olsen led the team in targets and receptions with 12 targets, hauling in eight for 40 yards. He seems to be Cam Newton’s primary target. If Carolina should upgrade their receiving position, look for Olsen’s value to take a hit.

Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – 49ers escape Seahawks, 19-17
- 49ers running back Frank Gore turned back the clock and had 110 yards on 17 carries. He’s already 30 and only under contract with San Francisco for one more year. Gore’s dynasty value won’t last much longer.
- Seahawks rookie tight end Luke Willson had three catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. Willson has the physical tools to be a productive tight end for many years. Keep an eye on him in the off-season.
- 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman had nine more tackles and a sack. On the year, Bowman has 120 tackles, four sacks, six passes defended and three forced fumbles. Bowman is a LB1 in any dynasty format.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Chargers destroy Giants, 37-14
- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers continues his comeback season, going 21 of 28 for 249 yards and three touchdowns with one fumble lost. Rivers has excelled under new offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and should pray he comes back in 2014. If not, Rivers value should not be as highly regarded.
- Giants running back Andre Brown had 81 yards on 16 carries for a 5.1 YPC. Brown has played well without platoon partner David Wilson, sporting a 4.3 YPC for the season and 424 yards in just five games. Keep an eye on the Giants backfield in 2014 because if there’s a bell cow, he’ll be extremely valuable. Brown could be it.
- Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks had five catches for 135 yards and an insane 27 YPC. Nicks hasn’t put up a ton of stats but when he’s in the zone, there’s not many better. He’s averaged 16.1 YPC and, if extrapolated, would eclipse 1,000 yards again. He’s sure to sign somewhere else in 2014 and, if he can stay healthy, Nicks can be a decent dynasty WR2.
- Giants defensive end Justin Tuck had two more sacks, giving him seven in three games. However, Tuck is 30 and a free agent and is unlikely to reproduce his 2013 production.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Cardinals take down Rams, 30-10
- Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer was highly efficient, going 27 of 32 for 269 yards and a touchdown. The Cardinals have been good this season and Palmer should continue to be hot at times in 2014. He’s still older and slow but could be serviceable for a year or two.
- Cardinals rookie running back Andre Ellington outplayed, again, Rashard Mendenhall, running for 46 yards on 11 carries. He’ll continue to be second fiddle to Mendenhall but that should change next year.
- Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald hauled in all 12 of his targets for 96 yards and a touchdown. As long as the Cardinals are winning, Fitzgerald should be happy and continue to produce.
- Rams rookie linebacker Alec Ogletree continues to play well with nine tackles and the first sack of his career. He’s up to 94 tackles on the year and has played as well as any rookie linebacker this side of Kiko Alonso. He’s the next possible Lavonte David.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Broncos beat Titans, 51-28
- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was ridiculously good, going 39 of 59 for 397 yards and four touchdowns. Even if Peyton can play 2-3 more years, it would be worth it. He’s in the top-tier of dynasty quarterbacks.
- Broncos rookie running back Montee Ball continues to play well while spelling Knowshon Moreno. Ball ran for 77 yards on just 15 carries while catching three passes for 10 yards. It’s hard to say what the Broncos plan is in 2014 but Ball should be a part of it.
- Titans rookie receiver Justin Hunter had a good day with 114 yards on four catches on eight targets and a touchdown. It’s his second 100-yard game in three weeks. Between Hunter and Kendall Wright, Tennessee has solid receiving options if they can ever figure out the quarterback position. Hunter could be an intriguing dynasty prospect.
- Titans safety Bernard Pollard had three passes defended, giving him eight on the year. In 2013, Pollard has 81 tackles, three interceptions, and the aforementioned eight passes defended. Another stat-filled season for Pollard and should be high on dynasty defensive back rankings.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Chiefs destroy Redskins, 45-10
- Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith put together a decent game, going 14 0f 20 for 137 yards, two touchdowns and zero turnovers. Smith certainly isn’t a flashy option but you could do worse for a QB2. Worse like…
- Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III! RG3 went 12 of 26 for 164 yards, a touchdown and an interception. RG3 is having a tough year and complications with coach Mike Shanahan aren’t helping. He might be a buy-low candidate.
- Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles ran wild for 151 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. He’ll challenge LeSean McCoy as dynasty’s top running back heading in to 2014.
- Redskins receiver Pierre Garçon drew 12 targets and hauled in five of them for 37 yards. Garçon will still be a viable WR2 option for a few years being the top option in Washington, no matter who the quarterback is in 2014.
- Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali had two more sacks, giving him 11 on the year. Hali has quietly put together a solid campaign with 42 tackles, the previously-mentioned 11 sacks, four forced fumbles, an interception and a pass defended on the season. Hali is 30 but with his salary due to come down in 2014, he should be in the Chiefs plans for the foreseeable future.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Buccaneers beat up Bills, 27-6
- Bills rookie quarterback E.J. Manual was just bad. Going 18 of 33 for 184 yards, a 5.6 YPA, zero touchdowns and four interceptions. Manual wishes this season would end soon so he can improve upon it.
- Buccaneers running back Bobby Rainey ran for 127 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. Rainey is the third running back to be featured in Tampa’s offense this season after injuries depleted them. Even though he’s just 26, don’t expect Rainey to have any dynasty value after this season.
- Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David was all sorts of awesome with nine tackles, a sack, two tackles for a loss, two passes defended and two interceptions. He’s a bona fide LB1 in dynasty circles.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Dolphins edge Steelers, 34-28
- Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger continues his late season surge, going 23 of 39 for 349 yards and three touchdowns with one fumble lost. He’ll be just 32 entering 2014 and Pittsburgh has the makings of a good, young offense around him.
- Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas went off for 105 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown in place of Lamar Miller. Don’t expect many more days like this from Thomas.
- On the other side of the field, Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell performed well in the running game with 61 yards on 15 carries. He was even more impressive in the passing game with nine targets, hauling in five catches for 28 yards. Bell is proving he can be an every down back and will be viewed as such heading in to 2014.
- Dolphins tight end Charles Clay led the Dolphins with 10 targets, seven catches and 97 yards and two touchdowns. He continues to have an impressive season in place of the injured Dustin Keller. It’s hard to imagine Clay’s role being diminished heading in to 2014.
- Steelers linebacker Jason Worilds had another good game with eight tackles and two more sacks. He now has 31 tackles and five sacks in the last four games. Worilds will be a free agent in 2014 but should find a starting job somewhere.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Eagles beat Lions, 34-20
- It was the LeSean McCoy show as he ran amok in the snow. McCoy went off for 217 yards on 29 carries and two touchdowns. This season should leave little doubt as to who is the top dynasty running back.
- Lions running back Joique Bell also took advantage of the snow, along with a last-minute injury to Reggie Bush to have 69 yards rushing to go along with four catches and 58 yards. He also added a touchdown. Bell is a must-have handcuff as he’s proven he can handle the load and Bush just can’t seem to stay healthy.
- Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch had 10 more tackles to give him 107 on the year. It’s his fifth straight season of 100+ tackles. Tulloch is in the prime of his career and isn’t going anywhere soon.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Jets blow by Raiders – 37-27
- Raiders running back Marcel Reece had a good day with 123 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown plus two catches for 38 yards. Reece is a fine handcuff but it’s hard to imagine Reece entering 2014 as more than that.
- Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, Jets running back Chris Ivory had 76 yards on just 18 carries with a touchdown. Ivory’s been reliable when he’s in the game, averaging 4.4 YPC this year. The Jets offense around Ivory is about as bad as it gets so there’s only one way to go in 2014. Ivory could be a decent RB2 next year with strict running duties a la Alfred Morris.
- Raiders linebacker Nick Roach continues to rack up the tackles, this time with nine. He’s now at 98 for the year with 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three passes defended, five tackles for a loss and an interception. Brought in to man the middle, Roach should fill that role in Oakland for the foreseeable future.
