Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Eagles beat Redskins, 24-16

  • Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was efficient again, going 17 of 26 for 298 yards and added 47 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. As long as the Eagles keeping winning, Foles is your man.
  • Redskins running back Alfred Morris continues to mow defenders down with 93 yards on 22 carries for a 4+ YPC. He’ll continue to be a grinder as long as the Redskins stay close in games.
  • Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans had seven more tackles to give him 96 on the year. The tackle machine is on pace for 140 tackles on the season. At just 29, if you’re short on tackles on your dynasty team, you could do worse than Ryans.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Steelers outlast Lions, 37-27

  • Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had a huge day going 29 of 45 for 367 yards with four touchdowns and no turnovers. Big Ben can still sling it around and could be a decent QB2 asset in dynasty leagues.
  • Roethlisberger’s favorite target was Antonio Brown with 13 targets, 10 catches, 147 yards and two touchdowns. I’ve said it before but Antonio Brown is a guarantee top 10 receiver every week. The only receiver playing better is…
  • Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, who had six catches on 13 targets for 179 yards and tow touchdowns. There’s just no one better in the game.
  • Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy had a big day with 12 tackles to go along with two passes defended and two tackles for a loss. Levy is a force in the passing game and someone to monitor as a LB2/3 going in to next year.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Raiders down Texans, 28-23

  • Raiders rookie quarterback Matt McGloin went 18 of 32 for 197 yards and three touchdowns and no turnovers. If he keeps this up, the Raiders might also use their pick on something other than quarterback.
  • Meanwhile, the Texans pulled Case Keenum in the middle of the game for Matt Schaub. It was odd in that Keenum was only 13 of 24 for 170 yards with one touchdown and one interception. It’s not like Houston has anything play for this year so why not let Keenum continue to learn on the job?
  • Texans running back Ben Tate continued to impress with 88 yards on 19 carries to go along with to go along with four catches for 29 yards. Tate will continue to be the lead back this year and should be the feature back somewhere else next year.
  • Texans tight end Garrett Graham had a big day with 136 yards on seven catches on 13 targets and a touchdown. Dont’ count on Graham in dynasty leagues, however, as Owen Daniels is fully expected to get the job back next year.
  • Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had two more sacks to go along with five tackles. Watt now has 8.5 sacks on an otherwise disappointing (for him) season. Now might be a good time to buy (relatively) low.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Buccaneers beat Falcons, 41-28

  • Buccaneers rookie quarterback Mike Glennon had another efficient day going 20 of 23 for 231 yards and two touchdowns with zero turnovers. If he keeps playing this well, Tampa may use their high pick to address other needs.
  • Bucs running back Bobby Rainey had a huge day with 163 yards rushing on 30 carries. Don’t get too carried away as Rainey has two running backs ahead of him on the depth chart.
  • Bucs receiver Vincent Jackson had a huge day as well with 10 catches on 12 targets for 165 yards and a touchdown. Hopefully, with some stability at the quarterback position, Jackson can continue to produce the way Tampa hoped with they signed him.
  • On the other side of the field, Falcons fill-in Harry Douglas had six catches for 134 yards on a touchdown. It will be interesting where Douglas fits in 2014 with Julio Jones coming back. Could he replace Roddy White as Atlanta’s #2?
  • Atlanta undrafted free agent linebacker Paul Worrilow continues his hot streak with 16  tackles. That’s now 54 in the last three games alone. Worrilow is proving he’s legit and should be picked up in all dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Cardinals beat Jaguars, 27-14

  • Cardinals running back Andre Ellington had even less carries than suspected with eight for three yards to go along with two receptions for 10 yards.
  • Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd had the best game of his career with six catches for 193 yards and a touchdown. With Larry Fitzgerald’s status unknown for next year, it wouldn’t hurt to explore Floyd’s availability in your dynasty league.
  • Cardinals tight end Rob Housler had his best game of the year with six catches for 70 yards on nine targets. Until Housler provides some consistency, Housler is a ‘sell’ candidate.
  • Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell had another sack to bring his season-total to five. Campbell continues to be one of the most consistent defensive linemen in the game.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Colts at Titans

  • Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a decent night, going 22 of 28 for 222 yard and a touchdown. Even if the 30-year old plays well down the stretch, it will be Jake Locker or bust for the Titans.
  • Colts running back Trent Richardson had another poor game, rushing for only 22 yards on eight carries. He did add 31 yards on five receptions. But if this is the type of game Richardson produces week-in and week-out, he’s a poor fantasy option and certainly not a RB1. He’s now entering buy-low territory if he keeps this kind of play up.
  • Colts tight end Colby Fleener had his best game of the year with eight receptions for 107 yards. Hopefully this is the beginning of good things with Fleener.
  • After not starting for the first half of the season, Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy has played well in the place of Moises Foku. He had 12 tackles in the game. He now has 38 in his last four games along with two tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and one interception.

Daily Dynasty Update – November 14th

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Buccaneers slip by Dolphins, 22-19

  • Buccaneers backup running back Mike James was on his way to a big night with 41 yards on five carries before fracturing his ankle. James is worth a look in exchange for a low pick, especially if you have Doug Martin coming back next year.
  • Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a decent game going 27 of 42 for 229 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. It’s encouraging since he had no running game to work with. He has shown a slight improvement in 2013 and probably bought himself another year in Miami with or without the current regime.
  • Miami linebacker Dannell Ellerbe had another good outing with 11 tackles and a sack. He’s currently on pace for 120 for the year. At just 27 and signed to a contract extension before the 2013 season, Ellerbe is a solid choice for dynasty leaguers.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Saints dominate Cowboys, 49-17

  • The Saints ran all over the Cowboys with continual fantasy disappointment Mark Ingram thrashing them for 145 yards on just 14 carries. Pierre Thomas  added 87 yards on 17 carries. Don’t get too excited, however, as the Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in the league. Sell high on either one if you can.
  • The passing game also did damage but that was no surprise. Quarterback Drew Brees distributed the ball fairly evenly with Marques Colston leading the way in targets, catches and yards. It’s still a week-to-week guess who Brees’ favorite is with the exception of tight end Jimmy Graham. There just isn’t a receiver in New Orleans reliable enough to count on.
  • Cowboys safety Barry Church had 14 more tackles to give him 80 on the year putting him on pace for 128. Of course, with the Cowboys pass defense so abysmal, it’s not hard to envision any safety on the Dallas defense having a lot of tackles. It will remain to be seen if Church will still be around after the inevitable shake-up coming n the off-season.
  • Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter had a good day with 12 tackles, giving him 60 for the year. He’s now on pace for 100 tackles but, like Church, it remains to be seen if he’ll be around in Dallas in 2014.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Panthers slip by 49ers, 10-9

  • 49ers running back Frank Gore had 82 yards on 16 carries fora 5+ YPC. Makes you wonder why San Francisco didn’t turn to Gore more. However, for dynasty purposes, Gore is already 30 and has one year left on his contract. You’d be wise to trade him off for an asset now.
  • 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for 91 yards on 50% passing, exposing what happens when San Francisco had zero weapons to work with after Vernon Davis’ concussion. Kap is a definite buy-low candidate until the 49ers addresses its receivers issue.
  • Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly led the Panthers with one of their six sacks and had 11 tackles and one pass defended.
  • Not to be outdone, 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks had three sacks on the day to bring his total to 6.5. At 29 and signing an extension before 2012, Brooks will be in the same situation that has brought him continued success so he could be a name to fill your LB2/3 position.
