There were reports earlier this week that Broncos receiver DeMaryius Thomas was still healing from a separate shoulder suffered in the Super Bowl. But, that apparently wasn’t true as he’s with Peyton Manning this week at Manning’s passing camp. Thomas is good to go as a top five dynasty receiver.- Expect the Bengals to run a lot more under new offensive coordinator Hue Jackson. Any value quarterback Andy Dalton built up last season should dissipate while running back Gio Bernard is a huge breakout candidate and should be a RB1 in dynasty leagues in 2014.
- Lions receiver Ryan Broyles is back in action after an injury his Achilles tendon last season. Broyles’ ceiling is as the Lions #2 receiver which could have some value in dynasty. However, until he proves he can stay on the field, Broyles can be off your radar.
- A potentially big dynasty development in Denver where local writers expect backup quarterback Brock Osweiler to leave Denver before getting a shot at replacing Peyton Manning. The only reason Osweiler is on dynasty rankings is his location. Should that change, his dynasty value is gone.

Daily Dynasty Update – March 13th
- The Jets have their receiver in Eric Decker, who signed for five years and $36.5 million. Obviously a downgrade without Peyton Manning, Decker is still the top receiving option on a team so will warrant some consideration in dynasty leagues. He’s also on a young team that can develop. Currently, he’s no more than a WR3 until he proves otherwise.
- Golden Tate is now in Detroit, which should immediately boost his dynasty value. Being in a high-powered passing offense, instead of the run-heavy Seattle offense, will allow Tate to hit career numbers. He could be a WR2 candidate for a few years.
- Kevin Minter dynasty owners might be rewarded in 2014 with the depature of Karlos Dansby. He’s expected to fill the every-down role Dansby occupied last year and could be a LB1/2.
- Josh McCown currently sits as the starter in Tampa after signing with them. 35 at the beginning of the season, McCown is a short-term dynasty option, at best. Luckily, Vincent Jackson and Doug Martin won’t suffer as McCown’s not necessarily a downgrade from the likes of Mike Glennon.
- DeMarcus Ware is now in Denver and, if healthy, should be a fine LB2 playing across Von Miller for at least a year or two.

- The top five remains unchanged with Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Drew Brees, Cam Newton, and Matt Stafford.
- Biggest drop was Matt Ryan but that’s more to do with the rise of Peyton Manning, Colin Kaepernick, and Nick Foles. The Falcons will be a hot pick for bounce back team of the year.
- The biggest riser was Ryan Mallett of the Patriots. Tom Brady is a year older and Mallett is still there. It only figures that he’s the quarterback of the future.
Dynasty Recap – Super Bowl 48 – Seattle thrashes Denver, 43-8
- Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was his usual efficient self, completing 72% of his passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 26 yards rushing. Wilson performed admirably and is an ideal QB2 in dynasty leagues. A healthy Percy Harvin is just a bonus heading in to 2014.
- Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas set a Super Bowl record with 13 catches and added 118 yards and a touchdown. Thomas is firmly in the top-tier of dynasty receivers as long as Peyton Manning is around.
- Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor had a big game with 10 tackles and two passes defended. Chancellor could have made a claim for game MVP but being the best player on a great defense will do. He’s a DB1 heading in to 2014.
Daily Dynasty Update – January 29th
- Apparently the Patriots were interested in trading for Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald last year and, presumably, would still be interested. It was shoot Fitz’s dynasty value back up after falling for a few years now. The biggest obstacle is his $18 million cap number. Stay tuned.
- We now have some insight as to why Broncos rookie running back Montee Ball didn’t start immediately – it was simply overwhelming. As Ball alluded to, it’s a big leap to go from a college playbook to a Peyton Manning playbook. But as any Ball dynasty owners know, Ball was handed more responsibility as the year went on and could possibly be a starter in 2014 with Knowshon Moreno becoming a free agent. Either way, Ball is in for a bigger 2014.
- The Cardinals are making tackle Breanden Albert their biggest priority this season. If they land him, every Cardinals offensive player will get a slight bump up, especially in the running game.
- Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o had foot surgery to clean up the injury that plagued him early in the season. Hopefully, Te’o can head into 2014 healthier than last year and prove the Chargers were right in drafting him in the second round.
Dynasty Recap – AFC Championship – Broncos beat Patriots, 26-16
- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was incredible, going 32 of 43 for 400 yards, two touchdowns, and zero turnovers. There’s no doubt who the top quarterback in fantasy is and even in dynasty leagues, Manning should be viewed as a top-five QB. You’ll only get 1-2 years from him but it’s hard to ignore that production.
- Patriots receiver Julian Edelman, seemingly the only receiver that did anything decent this year, produced again. He hauled in 10 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown. He finishes the year the team leader in targets, catches, and yards. Tom Brady has already pined for his return. If Edelman is back in New England, he’ll be a borderline WR1 in PPR leagues.
- Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas took advantage of an injured Aqib Talib with seven catches for 134 yards and a touchdown. As long as Manning is his quarterback, Thomas is a bona fide WR1.
Dynasty Recap – Divisional Playoff – Broncos beat Chargers, 24-17
- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had another efficient day, going 18 of 27 for 217 yards and two touchdowns with zero turnovers. Rivers had a resurgence this season thanks to the hiring of coach Mike McCoy and should be a QB2 in dynasty leagues as long as McCoy is around.
- Broncos tight end Julius Thomas led the Broncos in receiving yards with 76 to go along with six catches and seven targets. Thomas had a break-out season and will be a top five dynasty tight end as long as Peyton Manning is around.
- Chargers rookie receiver Keenan Allen led the Chargers in targets (9), catches (6), yards (142) and had two touchdowns. Allen established himself as the lead guy in San Diego and should flirt with WR1 status in dynasty leagues next year.
Dynasty Recap – Week 17 – Broncos beat up Raiders, 34-14
- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was ridiculously good, going 25 of 28 for 266 yards and four touchdowns. Despite Manning’s age, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to trade or draft Manning for a chance to win it all in your league in the next year or two.
- Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor had a decent day, going 21 of 38 yards for 207 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 49 yards rushing. It remains to be seen who sticks around next year but Pryor is still an intriguing prospect.
- Broncos rookie running back Montee Ball continues to impress with 72 yards on 10 carries and, most important, no turnovers. Ball is someone to look at next year as possibly getting the starting job.
- Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas capped his stellar 2013 season with six catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns. As long as Peyton is around, he’s a top five dynasty option at receiver.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 Recap – Broncos destroy Texans, 37-13
- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a great day with 400 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. No words.
- Broncos receiver Eric Decker went off with 10 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns. So did Demaryius Thomas with eight catches for 123 yards and another touchdown. They probably won a few teams some championships.
- Texans rookie tight end Ryan Griffin had five more catches for 66 yards as the starter. Griffin is an interesting asset in dynasty leagues as Houston will look to re-build next year and Griffin’s youth and cheap contract will look attractive.

- Few changes at the top except Robert Griffin III and Matt Stafford flipping five and six; Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan swapping seven and eight; and Peyton Manning and Colin Kaepernick switching nine and ten.
- Notable drops include Jay Cutler going from 13 to 16 with uncertainty around where he’ll play next along with his surprisingly full injury history. Also Sam Bradford from 17 to 21 after his torn ACL and some uncertainty on what St. Louis will do with their #2 pick.
- Big risers include Ben Roethlisberger from 20 to 17 after his highly productive month; Nick Foles made the biggest jump from 30 to 21 thanks to his All-Pro season. His ranking is sure to rise in 2014.
