Updated Dynasty Quarterback Rankings – November 2015

Complete updated dynasty quarterback rankings can be found here.

  • Top five remains the same albeit in a slightly different order: Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Cam Newton moves up to three, Russell Wilson, and Matt Ryan.
  • Biggest movers include Andy Dalton up to 11th from 22nd; Tyrod Taylor up to 25th from 37th; and Kirk Cousins up to 32nd from 39th.
  • Drops include Matt Stafford down to 13th from 6th; Peyton Manning down to 20th from 13th; and Colin Kaepernick down to 27th from 16th
  • Rookies Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston check-in at 15th and 16th respectively.

Dynasty Recap – Week 2 – Broncos 31, Chiefs 24

Broncos

  • He may not be the same old Peyton Manning but he’s still pretty good. On 45 pass attempts, he had just 256 yards but made that up with three touchdowns.
  • Meanwhile, his receivers aren’t going anywhere either with Demaryius Thomas catching eight balls for 116 yards and Emmanuel Sanders catching eight for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas should still be considered a low-end WR1 for dynasty purposes but ring as much fantasy value as you can out of Sanders.
  • The running game is not performing as everyone thought they might with just 61 yards between Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson. As long as the Broncos keep winning, it’s doubtful they switch to the run.

Chiefs

  • Not much to get excited about except for Jamaal Charles. He ran for 125 yards and a touchdown but did have two costly fumbles. Regardless, Charles is still a RB1 in dynasty circles thanks to his rock-solid status as the starter.
  • Receiver Jeremy Maclin had just four catches for 57 yards on seven targets. Unfortunately, that may be the typical stat line for Maclin in Kansas City.
  • In IDP land, linebacker Justin Houston had two more sacks because THAT IS ALL JUSTIN HOUSTON DOES. He’s a top linebacker in IDP leagues, especially in big-play leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Broncos 19, Ravens 13

Broncos

  • Peyton Manning’s bad day was part of a trend for Denver. Manning had only 175 yards plus an interception. Whether it’s the decreased arm strength or something else, Manning can’t be counted on to be a QB1 right now.
  • In the running game, Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson had the same amount of carries. Good for Hillman, not good for Anderson. It remains to be seen if that trend continues.
  • The receiving game didn’t have much to show with Demaryius Thomas catching seven for 60 and Emmanuel Sanders catching eight for 65. No receiver should be counted on to be a WR1 until Manning’s issues are sorted out.

Ravens

  • It was bad.

  • New entrant to the top five with Matt Stafford taking Drew Brees’ place at five. Order before that remains the same: Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton.
  • Big risers include Ben Roethlisgberger up to 7th from 11th; Ryan Tannehill up to 11th from 15th; and second-year Teddy Bridgewater up to 13th from 17th.
  • Some drops include Peyton Manning to 12th from 8th; Jay Cutler to 17th from 13th and Johnny Manziel from 29th to 24th.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Rams upset Broncos 22-7

  • Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a disappointing day with 373 yards and one touchdown along with two interceptions. This day was an anomaly as Manning should still be considered an elite option.
  • Rams rookie running back Tre Mason had an ok day with 29 carries and 113 yards but a sub-4.0 YPC. It was a Zac Stacy-like day and Mason should be careful.
  • Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas had another 100-yard game with seven catches for 103 yards. Thomas is at the top of the receiver class as long as Peyton is in town.
  • Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree had a big day with 13 tackles, two passes defended and an interception. Ogletree is more valuable in big play IDP leagues where he should be considered a LB2.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Patriots blow out Broncos, 43-21

  • Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had another big game with 333 yards and four touchdowns plus an interception. He should be a low-end QB1 with potential for more.
  • On the other side of the field Peyton Manning had 438 yards and two touchdowns to go with two interceptions. He still has elite QB1 status.
  • Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had another huge day with nine catches and 105 yards and a touchdown. He’s not only a TE1 but is probably more a WR1.
  • Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders had a big day with 10 catches for 151 yards but no touchdowns. He’ll continue to be a low-end WR2 as long as he’s in Denver.
  • Likewise, Demaryius Thomas had a big day with seven catches for 127 yards. Another WR1 day

Dynasty Recap – Week 5 – Broncos destroy Cardinals 41-20

  • Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a big day with four touchdowns and a personal record of 479 yards. He’ll be the top quarterback this year in fantasy but, depending on your needs, could be traded.
  • The biggest beneficiary was receiver Demaryius Thomas with 226 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas is still an elite option if Manning is in town.
  • Another receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, had a good day with 101 yards on seven catches. However, you have to wonder what his value is now that Welker is back. Be cautious and trade if you can.
  • A bright spot for Arizona was running back Andre Ellington with only 32 yards rushing but 112 yards receiving on four catches and a touchdown. He’s  quietly established himself as a low-end RB1.

Dynasty Recap – Week 2 – Broncos escape Chiefs, 24-17

  • Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a slow day (for him) with only 242 yards and three touchdowns. Manning is the top quarterback, statistically, but is still behind Rodgers, Luck and Stafford thanks to his age. But don’t discount him too much. He can still win you some games in the next 2-3 years.
  • Thanks to the injury to Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis saw extended action with 79 yards on the ground along with six catches for 26 yards. It’s clear Kansas City didn’t change the game plan once Charles was out so expect a lot of receptions. If Davis performs well, we could look at a time share.
  • Meanwhile, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce should see more action after four catches for 81 yards. He should see plenty more work.

Dynasty Recap – Week 2 – Packers come back against Jets, 31-24

  • Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was in top form with 346 yards and three touchdowns. Thanks to his production and age (unlike Drew Brees and Peyton Manning), he’s the consensus QB1 in dynasty formats.
  • The primary beneficiary was receiver Jordy Nelson at nine catches for 209 yards on a staggering 16 targets. Thanks to his extension, Nelson is a consensus WR1 in all dynasty formats.
  • Meanwhile, Jets receiver Eric Decker was having a nice day with four catches, 63 yards and a touchdown before getting injured. Decker is proving he can be a reliable WR2/3 in dynasty formats even with questionable quarterback play.
  • Packers safety Morgan Burnett had another great day with 11 tackles and a pass defended. He’s a legit DB1 in all dynasty formats.
