Daily Dynasty Update – March 18th

  • The Raiders signed wide receiver James Jones to a three-year deal. He’ll immediately be at the top of the depth chart in Oakland but should still see a decrease in fantasy value. Unless the Raiders draft a quarterback in the first round, Jones doesn’t have a good chance to have dynasty value in 2014.
  • Quarterback Brandon Weeden signed with the Cowboys where he’ll back up Tony Romo. Even though he’s cemented his status as a backup, Weeden’s dynasty value might have actually increased. Tony Romo is coming off back surgery and the Dallas offense is never one to be shy.
  • The Packers are expected to re-sign running back James Starks to back up incumbent Eddie Lacy. Starks had a 5.5 YPC last year and should be considered one of the better compliment backs in dynasty leagues.

Daily Dynasty Update – January 18th

  • Rams running back Daryl Richardsonwidely expected to be the starter for 2013, was suffering from turf-toe the entire season which contributed to his lack of effectiveness. Despite his 3.1 YPC last year, the Rams will give Richardson another chance to prove his worth. No one is bumping incumbent Zac Stacy but Richardson could be a decent handcuff, if he recovers completely.
  • Current Packers running back James Starks could be an option for the Giants next year. Starks could possibly fill the void if David Wilson can’t make a complete comeback. This would dramatically increase Starks’ value over his current situation in Green Bay.
  • Another Packer that could make the leap to the Giants is tight end Andrew Quarless. The free agent is primarily an in-line tight end but did well in the passing game last year. He couldn’t be a whole lot worse than current Giants starter Kevin Boss who ranked 52nd among all tight ends last year, according to Pro Football Focus.
