Dynasty Recap – Week 15 – Packers escape Cowboys, 37-36

Packers quarterback Matt Flynn led a wild comeback with 299 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception. Flynn could do that the last two games of the season and people still won’t forget about his forays into being a starter. However, Flynn could play his way into his old backup position. If you’re a Rodgers dynasty owner, you’d be wise to pick him up.
Packers running back Eddie Lacy ran all over the Cowboys, running 21 times for 141 yards and the winning score. He also added four catches for 30 yards. Lacy has had up and down games but should make a nice complement to Aaron Rodgers when he returns.
On the other side of the field, Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray ran for 134 yards on 18 carries for a 7+ YPC and a rushing touchdown. He also added four catches for 19 yards. Murray has been hot lately and has proven to be a viable RB2 when healthy.
Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant did Dez Bryant things. He caught 11 catches for 153 yards and a touchdown. If anyone is going to challenge Calvin Johnson for top dynasty receiver, it’s Dez.

Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Bears dominate Cowboys, 45-28

Bears quarterback Josh McCown continues to impress going 27 of 36 for 348 yards and four touchdowns. It’s probably a stretch to envision McCown taking over the starting job but the Bears have to at least think about it,
Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray had 18 carries for 146 yards. He might have had more if Dallas didn’t get blown out. Murray is a legit RB2 in dynasty circles for 2014. Just prepare for the inevitable injury.
Meanwhile, Mr. Reliable Matt Forte ran for 102 yards and also caught seven passes for 73 yards and a touchdown. Forte was playing Dallas’ horrible defense but he’s proven time and again he’s a RB1 in dynasty circles.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is on pace for a career-high in touches. That’s music to re-draft owners of McCoy but not dynasty leaguers. It’ll be close to 1,000 touches in the last three years for McCoy. Dynasty leaguers need to be cautious with McCoy in the near future.
Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar will be out for the season after a knee injury suffered in the Thanksgiving day game. Dunbar, averaging 5.0 YPC this season, was doing well as the change-of-pace back behind DeMarco Murray. Dunbar faces rookie Joseph Randle for that role in 2014 along with any other options the Jerry Jones regime brings in.
The Bills are encouraging rookie quarterback E.J. Manual to let it loose in the passing game. They likely want to see what they have at quarterback and sooner rather than later. The same could be said for dynasty league owners of Manual.

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray had a big day with 63 yards rushing on 17 carries and three touchdowns. He also added five catches for 39 yards. Health has been an issue in each of Murray’s three seasons but you could do a lot worse with your RB2 position.
Raiders receiver Andre Holmes had a career day with 136 yards on seven catches. At 6′ 4″ and 210 pounds, Holmes has the physical traits to be a successful dynasty receiver. He just needed the opportunity.
Raiders linebacker Nick Roach continues to dominate the Mike position with 11 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. Signed to a four-year deal before the season, Roach is already at 89 tackles through 12 games to go with 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception and two passes defended. And he still has a quarter of the season to go.

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray continues to be efficient with a 5.0 YPC but only got 14 carries. Now, he did get five catches, in addition to the 14 carries, but until Dallas consistently goes to Murray, he can’t be considered a RB1 in dynasty circles.
San Diego’s offensive continues to have a renaissance between Philip Rivers (400 yards, three touchdowns) and Antonio Gates (10 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown). While you could ride both of them to championships this year, it would be advisable to trade them for something of value while you can.
Meanwhile, San Diego rookie receiver Keenan Allen had his best day as a pro with five catches for 80 yards.
On the other side of the field, Dallas rookie receiver Terrance Williams had his best day as well with seven catches on eight targets. He did have a costly fumble towards the end but Williams should be able to produce from the third receiver spot (see: Robinson, Laurent; Ogletree, Kevin).
Any doubt you may have had about Sean Lee’s status as a LB1 should be gone after his 18 tackle night. Lee is just a beast and, at 27, should be that way for a while.

I think the Sam Bradford train is starting to lose some steam. He had a 5.0 YPC after 48 pass attempts. The lack of a running game doesn’t help.
Isaiah Pead took over running back duties for an injured Daryl Richardson but didn’t exactly impress. He had a 3.3 YPC after St. Louis went down early but was a bright spot with seven catches. That may be his niche in that offense which isn’t a bad thing. He’s just not a workhorse.
Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray had a huge day with 175 yards. Murray has a ton of talent and is young with the starting job locked up. The issue continues to be just how many rushes he gets. He could get 26 as he did this week or 12 like last week. Still a lot of upside however.
Cowboys end DeMarcus Ware had two more sacks bringing his total to four this season. The switch to end has been very good for Ware and wouldn’t be a bad pickup for your DL2 in dynasty leagues. There’s not many players that are more reliable.
