Dynasty Recap – Week 6 – Saints 31, Falcons 21

Saints

  • It was a throwback game for Drew Brees as he throws for 312 yards on 30 of 39 passing and a touchdown. It’s a rare good week for Brees but we still consider him a fringe-level QB1 in dynasty formats.
  • Saints rookie receiver Willie Snead had another solid game with four catches for 55 yards. He’s averaging over 70 yards a game through his first six games and could be a long-term replacement for Marques Colton.
  • Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe had a big day with 14 tackles. He can be one of the few player makers on an otherwise weak Saints defense and could carry LB2 value in dynasty leagues.

Falcons

  • Matt Ryan had another good day with 295 yards and two touchdowns. He’s squarely in the mid-QB1 conversation in dynasty.
  • Devonta Freeman had another good day with 100 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries. He also added eight catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. We don’t see Freeman being a three-down back going forward but should firmly stay as the receiving back which has plenty of value in PPR leagues.
  • Defensive end Adrian Clayborn had a sack and has two on the season. The 27-year old could be a decent DL3 option in dynasty as part of a weak Falcons defense.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Buccaneers slip by Dolphins, 22-19

  • Buccaneers backup running back Mike James was on his way to a big night with 41 yards on five carries before fracturing his ankle. James is worth a look in exchange for a low pick, especially if you have Doug Martin coming back next year.
  • Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a decent game going 27 of 42 for 229 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. It’s encouraging since he had no running game to work with. He has shown a slight improvement in 2013 and probably bought himself another year in Miami with or without the current regime.
  • Miami linebacker Dannell Ellerbe had another good outing with 11 tackles and a sack. He’s currently on pace for 120 for the year. At just 27 and signed to a contract extension before the 2013 season, Ellerbe is a solid choice for dynasty leaguers.

Dynasty Recap – Week 3 – Dolphins slip by Falcons, 27-23

  • The Dolphins had a fairly efficient night scoring 27 points on 55 plays. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill had 236 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He’ll never be a long-term solution in dynasty leagues but he might not be a bad QB2.
  • Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers had himself a nice day with 86 yards rushing and two catches for seven yards in place of Steven Jackson. Now would be a good time to sell high as Jackson might not be back until week 7 and Rogers is, by no means, the long-term solution. He has yet to crack the 4.0 YPC mark and won’t anytime soon.
  • Dolphins rookie defensive end Dion Jordan had his second straight quiet game after racking up a sack in his pro debut. Now might be the time to pluck him off an unsuspecting victim and stash him away for taxi squad purposes.
  • Meanwhile, Dolphins linebacker Dannell Ellerbe racked up 10 more tackles to go along with his 20 for the season. Ellerbe is a solid contributor in standard scoring IDP dynasty leagues.
