Dynasty Recap – Week 7 – Saints 27, Colts 21

Saints

  • Drew Brees had an ordinary day with 255 yards plus a touchdown and an interception. It becomes harder to keep Brees as a certain QB1 in dynasty formats.
  • Meanwhile, Mark Ingram had a good week with 143 yards plus a touchdown. He had two touchdowns vultured and actually had the same number of carries as Khiry Robinson but he made the most of them.
  • Rookie linebacker Stephone Anthony had seven tackles plus a big interception. He’s currently no higher than a LB2/3 but more plays like that and he could end up as a LB1.

Colts

  • Another high scoring day for Andrew Luck with 333 yards and three touchdowns plus two interceptions while playing most of the game behind. Luck’s play has fallen off to the point where no one thinks he’s the top dynasty quarterback anymore.
  • On the receiving side, T.Y. Hilton had a very TY-like day with four catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Hilton continues to be the top receiving threat in a pass-heavy offense which means good WR2 value.
  • LInebacker Jerrell Freeman had 12 more tackles and is now up to 48 on the season. In tackle-friendly formats, Freeman is a LB1/2.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Bills 27, Colts 14

Bills

  • Quarterback Tyrod Taylor had an interesting day with 195 yards and a touchdown through the air plus 41 yards rushing. His ceiling is as the next Cam Newton / Colin Kaepernick-type and as a possible high-end QB2.
  • Bills rookie running back Karlos Williams led the team with 55 yards on just six carries plus a touchdown. He outperformed new back LeSean McCoy who had only 41 yards on 17 carries. It’s entirely possible Williams is sharing primary back duties with McCoy sooner rather than later. Williams is a good one to try to get before his value soars.

Colts

  • Bad day all the way around for the Colts. Starting at the top, Andrew Luck struggled mightily, going 26 of 49 for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He’ll get better throughout the season but it’s worth wondering if there’s any chance he’s only the second best dynasty quarterback.
  • Because of Luck’s poor day, there’s not much to report on the receiving front. T.Y. Hilton finished with seven catches for 88 yards. The young guys did fair with Donte Moncrief finishing with six catches for 46 yards and Philip Dorsett finishing with two catches for 45 yards. Hilton was injured which will open the door for Dorsett and Moncrief. Both are only WR4-5’s at the moment but could easily gain ground.

  • Top five remains the same: Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, and Matthew Stafford. Quarterback continues to be the most consistent position in dynasty which means a top option is not as easy to acquire. Hold on for dear life if you have one.
  • Biggest risers this month both come from the NFC East with Eli Manning to 18th from 21st; Robert Griffin to 23rd from 26th.
  • Biggest drop is (ex?) Bills quarterback Matt Cassel from 37th to 43rd. No Bills quarterback is a good option. None.

Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Colts beat up Jaguars 23-3

  • Colts quarterback Andrew Luck had a quiet day by his standards with 253 yards passing and a touchdown. He’ll bounce back soon.
  • Colts running back Daniel Herron had a good day in his first start of the season with 65 yards rushing plus five catches for 31 yards. Herron could have some dynasty value as Ahmad Bradshaw probably won’t be there next year.
  • Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton had a big day with 122 yards on four catches and one touchdown. Even on a bad day by Luck, Hilton still produced a WR1 day.
  • Jaguars rookie linebacker Telvin Smith had his best game of the season with 13 tackles on the day. Smith came in to the season with a lot of promise and could get more playing time as the seasons wears on. Numbers like this make him a solid LB2/3.
