2015 NFL Draft – 26th Overall Pick – Ravens Draft Breshad Perriman

With the 26th overall pick, the Ravens take Torrey Smith’s replacement in Breshad Perriman.

With very little depth behind him, Perriman should start immediately. A combine stud, Perriman shot up draft boards and slipped in to the first round right before it ended with his size and speed. He reminds people of Kelvin Benjamin with that rare combo but also because of drops.

With a quarterback with a decent arm, and newly installed offensive coordinator Marc Trestman, Perriman is squarely in the second-tier of rookie receivers for your dynasty drafts. He could also end up as a top-tier WR.

2015 NFL Draft – 25th Overall Pick – Panthers Draft Shaq Thompson

With the 25th pick, the Panthers take linebacker Shaq Thompson, one of the surprises of the first round.

One of the more flexible players in the entire draft, Thompson played inside, outside and even in the secondary. However, it was also his curse as teams aren’t sure where to place him. He’ll need more size on his 6′, 228-pound frame to be a linebacker for any team but, if he can add some weight, he could be a very valuable player, On the IDP side, he could rack up a lot of pass deflections in addition to sacks.

2015 NFL Draft – 23rd Overall Pick – Broncos Draft Shane Ray

After trading up five spots, the Broncos drafted defensive end Shane Ray.

Ray is an animal on defense with relentless energy and top-10 ability. His speed is an asset as well but is smaller compared to other edge rushers.

Ray could have gone much higher but character issues, along with a run-in with police just this week, caused Ray to drop a bit. However, if he can avoid trouble, he can be a great compliment, and eventual heir, to Demarcus Ware on the end. For IDP purposes, he’ll be good for sacks only.

2015 NFL Draft – 22nd Overall Pick – Steelers Draft Bud Dupree

With the 22nd pick, the Steelers selected linebacker Bud Dupree.

Continuing a youth movement on defense, the Steelers add a linebacker in Dupree that they hope can do better than former first round pick Jarvis Jones. Dupree had a very productive college career with excellent instincts. The knock on him was moving a little too slow during the action. But the former basketball player has the ability to be explosive.

For IDP purposes, another edge rusher that won’t mean much unless for big play leagues. Could contribute in pass protection as well.

2015 NFL Draft – 20th Overall Pick – Eagles Draft Nelson Agholor

With the 20th pick of the draft, the Eagles draft Jeremy Maclin’s replacement at receiver in Nelson Agholor.

Algholor doesn’t have great size at 6′ but has good route running skills and hands. He’ll also contribute on punt returns.

He joins a high-powers offense and could contribute statistically right away. For the other Eagles players, it helps the case of Sam Bradford and should take some heat off Jordan Matthews. Algholor will never be a top-tier WR option but his pick could allow Matthews to be. In Algholor’s case, he probably won’t crack the top two tiers of receivers in rookie drafts.

2015 NFL Draft – 19th Overall Pick – Browns Draft Cameron Erving

With their second pick of the first round, the Browns draft offensive lineman Cameron Erving.

Erving has only played offensive line for two years but has great size and is flexible as far as a position. He joins a Browns line that already has Joe Thomas and (for now) Alex Mack and finished as the sixth best line in the NFL. Will probably be better as an interior lineman.

For dynasty purposes, will only help the case of whichever running back ends up with the job in Cleveland between Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West. Of course, it’ll help whichever quarterback wins the job as well.

2015 NFL Draft – 18th Overall Pick – Chiefs Draft Marcus Peters

With the 18th pick, the Chiefs draft cornerback Marcus Peters.

After a season that saw no receiver catch a touchdown, the Chiefs go in a different direction with Peters. It’s a risk, not just because the Chiefs failed to address their receiver depth, but because of Peters’ character concerns. He was kicked off the team in college before entering the draft. But his raw talent was enough to be drafted in the first round and will enter a stable situation in Kansas City.

For IDP leagues, he won’t be a consideration.

2015 NFL Draft – 17th Overall Pick – San Francisco Drafts Arik Armstead

In the first pick of the post-Harbaugh era, the 49ers take edge rusher Arik Armstead from Oregon.

A physical freak at 6’7″, Armstead is still so raw that he’ll need plenty of work and mentoring and won’t start right away. He stands up too often and just wasn’t very productive in college. However, being surrounded by talented linebackers like NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith should help the process. If he can realize his potential, him and Smith will bookend a super imposing edge rush duo.

For IDP purposes, his ceiling is comparable to Smith as a sack specialist who will never rack up many tackles.
