Week 3 Dynasty Recap – Patriots control Buccaneers, 23-3

The Patriot rookie receivers came alive with Aaron Dobson being targeted a team-high 10 times and pulling in seven while Kenbrell Thompkins caught the first two touchdowns of his career. Kudos to those that bought low or held on.
Meanwhile, running back LaGarrette Blount ended up leading the Patriots in rushes with 14 over Stevan Ridley‘s 11. It could be due to the blowout win but Ridley’s opportunities and performance have been up and down this year. Hopefully it stabilizes before dynasty fantasy owners are forced to look somewhere else.
Tom Brady continues to jell with the rookie receivers mentioned above and with Rob Gronkowski expected back any week now, now might be the time to buy on Brady.
On the other side of the field, Tampa Bay running back Doug Martin had another pedestrian day. Martin is also an excellent buy low candidate.

Week 3 Dynasty Recap – Saints shut down Cardinals 31-7

With only one football to go around, your consistent targets in New Orleans’ offense are Jimmy Graham (15 targets), Marques Colston (8), Darren Sproles (6), Pierre Thomas (6). Anyone other receiver should be avoided in dynasty fantasy circles.
Saints rookie running back Khiry Robinson took advantage of mop up duty with 38 yards on four carries. He averaged over 4.0 YPC and nine yards per reception in the pre-season. He could get more looks if Mark Ingram continues to struggle.
Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan tacked on two more sacks against Cardinals statue Carson Palmer. Jordan is legit though and, at just 24, could be your DL1 in dynasty fantasy football for many years.
Likewise, Saints rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro filled up the stat sheet nicely with seven tackles a pass defended and an interception.
The Cardinals only ran the ball 16 times after getting behind early. Rashard Mendenhall was the lead back but he isn’t the long-term solution. Andre Ellington and Alfonso Smith had their moments with Ellington being targeted six times in the passing game and Smith scoring the Cardinals only touchdown. Either one could have long-term opportunities in the desert.

There was nothing going on offense for New York. It might be time to jump ship on the Giants veterans for dynasty purposes. Guys like Hakeem Nicks or Eli Manning might net you some value.
One bright spot was safety Ryan Mundy who racked up nine tackles. Mundy took over the starting job for Stevie Brown earlier this year. With Brown out for the season, Mundy is worth a flyer.
For Carolina, DeAngelo Williams racked up 120 yards rushing. SELL. NOW. There won’t be a better time than right now to trade the 30-year old Williams for something.
Greg Hardy racked up three sacks for Carolina, proving just how valuable he is to Carolina’s front seven. Hardy is easily a top five defensive linemen in dynasty fantasy football.

The Washington offense continues to fire on all cylinders. Running back Alfred Morris averaged five yards a carry but only had 15 of them.
Washington receiver Pierre Garçon was targeted 13 times and grabbed eight of them. He’ll continue to be Washington’s top target in the RG3 era.
Defensively for Washington, Perry Riley had 10 tackles, a tackle for a loss, and a pass defended. He continues to be one of the bright spots for dynasty fantasy owners on an otherwise dismal Washington defense.
Joique Bell did his best Reggie Bush impression and had 3.2 YPC while racking up 69 yards receiving. He had 132 total and continues to be a high on the handcuff list.
For Detroit, Ezekiel Ansah continues to make people forget about Cliff Avril, tallying two more sacks today and a forced fumble.

Ravens running back Bernard Pierce, starting in place of Ray Rice, failed to impress with only 2.7 YPC on 24 carries. Tap the break on the Pierce train.
Houston running back Ben Tate carried the ball nine times compared to 12 times for Arian Foster. His 4.0 YPC did nothing to dispel the notion that he’ll start somewhere next year. Trade for him this year if you can.
Houston receiver DeAndre Hopkins led the team with six receptions for 60 yards. He’s going to be a stud.
Baltimore rookie safety Matt Elam isn’t quite there yet with his tackle numbers after just five today.
J.J. Watt did J.J Watt things and had nine tackles to go along with a sack and

The studs did what they were supposed to do. LeSean McCoy had 150 yards rushing for Philadelphia, solidifying himself as one of the few workhorse backs left in the league.
Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles had 170 total yards to go along with seven catches. As long as Alex Smith is the Chiefs quarterback, expect a lot of check downs to Charles.
In a battle of young, catch-first tight ends, Travis Kelce (injured) of Kansas City and Zach Ertz of Philadelphia (one reception) continued to disappoint. Would be a good time to buy-low on either.
Mychal Kendricks continues to be a tackle machine, racking up nine. Still just 22, Kendricks could be your lead tackle linebacker for a long time.
Kansas City linebacker Justin Houston had a monster game with 4.5 sacks. Houston, 24, isn’t exactly new on the scene as he had 10 sacks last year.
