- Giants running backs Andre Brown and Brandon Jacobs took advantage of, quite possibly, the worst defense in football and ran all over the field. Brown had 21 carries for 127 yards and added four catches for 11 yards. Brown’s a free agent after this year but at just 26, he could still be part of a long-term committee with the injured David Ware.
- Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant had 102 yards on nine catches after being targeted an incredible 16 times. Personally, I view Dez as the second best receiver in dynasty circles.
- Cowboys safety Barry Church continues his impressive 2013 campaign with 13 more tackles, taking him up to 93 for the year. Church is well on his way to 130+ tackles for the year. Church is signed to a team-friendly deal through 2016 so he should continue to see opportunities. However, if the Cowboys defense improves in the slightest, there won’t be so many runners and receivers open in space for Church to tackle.

Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Titans slip by Raiders, 23-19
- The Titans passing game went off with, not one but, two receivers with over 100 yards. Rookie Justin Hunter and second-year receiver Kendall Wright each had six catches for 100+ yards and a touchdown. Those stat lines bode well for both and are a hopeful sign that whoever the Titans quarterback is next season, they’ll have the weapons to be successful.
- Raiders running back Rashad Jennings continued to impress with 73 yards on the ground on only 16 carries for a 4.6 YPC. He added four catches for 49 yards. While Jennings is already 28 and a free agent after the season, it wouldn’t be surprising for him to pop up somewhere and contribute in 2014.
- Raiders linebacker Nick Roach filled the stat sheet with 11 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a tackle for a loss and a forced fumble. While the first year in Oakland for Roach was supposed to be a tad more productive, he’ll still get opportunities playing in the middle. The Raiders signed him, on the cheap, to a four-year deal in the off-season so he won’t be going anywhere.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Cardinals destroy Colts
- It’s sounding like a broken record but Trent Richardson had another sub-par game with a 2.1 YPC on seven attempts. It’s officially time to buy-low on Richardson. Anyone treating him like anything other than a bust is crazy.
- Meanwhile, the Cardinals put Rashard Mendenhall back to the top of the depth chart and carried it 13 times for 54 yards and a touchdown for a respectable 4.2 YPC. Even though rookie Andre Ellington also had a good game with 50 yards on 10 carries, don’t expect him to overtake Mendenhall any time soon. Next year, on the other hand, hopefully the Arizona coaching staff sees the light.
- Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd hauled in all seven targets for 104 yards and a touchdown. Whether Larry Fitzgerald stays or goes, Floyd is a solid player.
- Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby continues his solid 2013 season with five tackles and an interception returned for a touchdown. Count me as one of those that didn’t believe Dansby had anything left but with 14 passes defended (including at least one in each game) to go along with his 87 tackles, he’s made himself relevant. I’d expect Arizona to re-sign the free agent after this season and try to keep their excellent defense in tact.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Steelers take care of Browns, 27-11
- Fantasy-wise, this game was about Josh Gordon who had 237 yards on 14 catches. That is all.
- On the other side of the field, Steelers receiver Antonio Brown had six catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. He continues to be a WR1 option week-in and week-out.
- Teammate Heath Miller continues to be one of Big Ben’s most popular targets, finishing second to Brown. Miller is vastly underrated and is a solid TE2 in dynasty leagues.
- Browns safety T.J. Ward continues to play solid IDP football with nine tackles, two of those for a loss. Ward had over 100 tackles in his only 16-game season and his on his way again this year. As long as he’s healthy, Ward is a DB1.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Packers, Vikings tie
- Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy had his third 100-yard effort with 110 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown. He also added six catches for 48 yards. He’ll continue to succeed in the high-powered Green Bay offense.
- Vikings rookie receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was targeted 11 times and hauled in eight of them for 54 yards. Hopefully the targets continue and Patterson can get more work in before the 2014 campaign.
- Packers safety Morgan Burnett had another 12-tackle game to give him 62 in his injury-shortened year. He still might get to 100 tackles while missing almost 1/3 of the season.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Chargers outlast Chiefs, 41-38
- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers had an outstanding day, going 27 of 39 for 392 yards and three touchdowns and zero turnovers. Rivers continues his renaissance connecting on 71% of his passes and an 8+ YPA. You could do worse with your QB2 this year and beyond.
- Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles continued his efficient play with 115 yards on just 14 carries, two touchdowns and added four catches for 42 yards. Charles is close to being the top-rated running back in dynasty circles.
- Chargers rookie receiver Keenan Allen continued his successful rookie season with nine catches for 124 yards. He’ll be viewed as a WR2 going forward.
- Chiefs defensive back Eric Berry had a solid outing with eight tackles, a pass defended and a sack. He’ll continue to be a DB1.
Dynasty Fantasy Football – Week 12 – Rams beat up on Bears,
- Bears running back Matt Forte had another good outing with 77 yards rushing and seven catches for 40 yards. He also escaped what looked like could be a serious injury.
- The Rams running attacked looked impressive as well. Rookie Zac Stacy ran well again, taking 12 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown. After getting concussed, Benny Cunningham tacked on 109 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. You’re looking at the Rams running back rotation for 2014.
- Bears receiver Brandon Marshall had a great day with 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Marshall is closing in on another 1,000 yard, 10 touchdown campaign.
- Rams rookie linebacker Alec Ogletree had a team-high 11 tackles with a pass defended. It was a nice bounce back game for Ogletree whose production tapered off in recent weeks.
- Rams defensive lineman Robert Quinn was a force with four tackles, a sack, a pass defended and a forced fumble then recovery then touchdown. Quinn is a legit DL1 in all formats.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Panthers slip by Dolphins, 20-16
- Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had an impressive game against a tough defense going 28 of 42 for 310 yards and a touchdown (plus one interception). Tannehill isn’t a bad dynasty prospect but he hasn’t shown himself to be special.
- Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace drew a team-high 10 targets with five catches and 127 yards and a touchdown. Don’t be fooled as these games have been few and far between for Wallace. Unless there’s a regime change (which there very well could be) and a different scheme is introduced, Wallace will continue to peddle water.
- Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis followed up his 17 tackle game with six more and a sack, a tackle for a loss and a pass defended. At 30 years old and signed to a (relatively) cheap contract, Davis is not a bad LB3 option.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Bucs surprise Lions, 24-21
- Bucs rookie quarterback Mike Glennon continues his impressive run, going 14 of 21 for 247 yards, an 11.8 YPA and two touchdowns with zero turnovers.
- A week after (allegedly) being benched for losing a fumble, Lions running back Reggie Bush was back to normal with 85 yards rushing and four catches for 17 yards.
- Lions receiver Nate Burleson picked up where he left off, catching seven passes for 77 yards. Burleson’s getting up there in age and has a pricey cap number next year but is a solid WR4 with WR3 upside when healthy and playing in Detroit.
- Lions rookie lineman Ezekiel Ansah had two sacks in his first action in a month. He’s a good one.
- Bucs linebacker Lavonte David led his team in tackles with 12 along with an interception and pass defended. He’s a bona fide LB1.
Dynasty Recap – Week 12 – Ravens down Jets, 19-3
- Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith’s downward slide continues, going 9 of 22 for 127 yards, two interceptions and zero touchdowns and even lost a fumble. Smith’s stock will never be lower if you’re still interested.
- The Ravens running attack continues to struggle, averaging just 2.2 YPC between Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce. The Ravens need more playmakers on offense to take attention away from the run game otherwise Rice and Pierce will continue to get killed.
- Jets rookie defensive tackle continues to impress with an incredible (for an interior lineman) nine tackles and half sack. Richardson looks like another Geno Atkins which means a productive defensive tackle for dynasty leaguers, a feat almost as rare as unicorns.
