Giants rookie Odell Beckham continues to battle a hamstring injury that will keep him out another week. Hamstring injuries tend to linger so its something to keep an eye on. ODB’s rookie draft stock could start moving downward.- Packers tight end Colt Lyerla has been relegated to the scout team in Green Bay. It doesn’t bode well for his prospects to break through the Packers tight end competition and his dynasty prospects look bleak.
- Don’t get too excited Chris Johnson-owners: Jets running back Chris Ivory is still expected to handle goal-line carries. It was to be expected and solidifies Johnson’s value as no higher than a RB2 in PPR leagues.

Daily Dynasty Update – July 28th
- Breathe easy Panther fans: rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin just has a bone bruise.
- Get ready for the Carlos Hyde-hype machine to kick in to overdrive as Kendall Hunter is now out for the year with LaMichael James out a month. All of this could lead to Hyde being the first running back off the board in rookie drafts.
- In a positive sign, rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will split first team snaps with Matt Cassel. The arrow is pointing up on Bridgewater to start the season and provide the most impact from this years rookie quarterback class.
- All signs point to Bengals running back Jeremy Hill being the primary back up to Gio Bernard in Cincinnati. Hill is bigger and faster (and cheaper) and should get some decent playing time right off the bat in Hue Jackson’s run-based offense.

Daily Dynasty Update – July 24th
Jets running back Chris Ivory sat out with a slight hamstring injury today. Hopefully it won’t be as severe as previous hamstring injuries Ivory has had. Either way, we still like Chris Johnson as the dynasty running back to own in dynasty leagues.- Browns rookie running back Terrance West is back in action after spending a day on the NFI list. He’s looking more and more like the running back to own in dynasty circles.
- Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart injured his hamstring (surprise!) and will be out a couple of weeks. So it goes.
- Giants tight end Adrien Robinson was listed as the fifth tight end on the depth chart to start camp. I didn’t know teams had five tight ends in camp. Either way, Robinson is not a dynasty asset.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 23rd
Broncos linebacker Von Miller won’t see game action until well in to pre-season after tearing his ACL last year. However, he should be ready for the season and could be a good LB2 for IDP leagues.- Those holding out hope for David Wilson’s return can feel a little better now that he opened camp on the second string. Wilson’s long-term outlook will look better and better the longer he can stay healthy.
- Rams receiver Tavon Austin didn’t understand the playbook last year which led to his failed rookie season. Personally, we’re not high on Austin due to his (very) small size and situation.
- Get ready for a big workload for Eddie Lacy as the Packers don’t plan on slowing him down. Lacy is a sure-fire top five dynasty back and should be good for many years to come.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 22nd
Interesting development in Giants camp as rookie running back Andre Williams is getting goal-line work with the first team. Williams could be a decent sleeper in rookie dynasty drafts.- In other Giants news, Odell Beckham has been battling a hamstring injury in camp. It’s worth noting as hamstring injuries can take a while to get over. ODB is expected to start the season behind Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle.
- Expect rookie defensive lineman Demarcus Lawrence to start outside for the Cowboys, giving him a chance to be the top rookie DL in rookie drafts. The Cowboy defense should be on the field a lot this year.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 21st
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before but Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski plans to play all season. Some of us at DFFC are pretty conservative and would sell high on Gronk.- Yes, Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart will get all the carries.
- Don’t expect the Titans to rely on running back Bishop Sankey for all the work. The team could use a formation such as the Chargers did when new coach Ken Whisenhunt was there. This means a feature back (Sankey), change-of-pace (Greene), and a receiving back (McCluster).
- In injury news, don’t expect 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman back until after week eight. Bowman suffered a gruesome knee injury in the NFC Championship game but could be a good buy-low candidate for those teams scared off by his recovery.
- Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel may be on a longer leash than originally thought over rookie Teddy Bridgewater. Cassel is a more-than-capable bridge (no punt intended) but teams typically don’t trade in to the first round for a guy they don’t want playing.
- Expect Browns rookie linebacker Christian Kirksey to win the job and be a three-down back from the start. Kirksey will be playing on a talented roster and should see plenty of opportunities for tackles.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 18th
In another setback, it looks like 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore will start training camp on the Non-Football Injury list. It’s another sign that Lattimore will be behind Carlos Hyde when camp opens.- In positive running back news, it looks like the Giants will have David Wilson for the season. Any dynasty owners still hanging out shouldn’t expect much from Wilson but could be a nice bounce back candidate in a limited role.
- Currently, look for the Bears to role with Jimmy Clausen as Jay Cutlers backup. Clausen might be worth a deep stash or taxi squad consideration, moreso if you have Cutler. Clausen will only be 27 this season and enters one of the better quarterback situations around.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 17th
Let the Jordan Matthews bandwagon keep moving along as they’re not comparing the Eagles receiver, physically, to Terrell Owens. Matthews appears to be about the 4th receiver off rookie dynasty boards and is looking like a great value.- After some initial optimism, it looks like Washington wide receiver Pierre Garcon will actually man the Marvin Jones role in Jay Gruden’s offense while DeSean Jackson mans the A.J. Green role. It’s disconcerting for Garcon dynasty owners but great for Jackson owners. Stay tuned.
- As if we didn’t need more proof, expect Vikings receiver Cordarrelle Patterson to get the ball a lot. Patterson has the makings of a WR1 in short order.
- Giants receiver Odell Beckham won’t be the starter yet as Rueben Randle will be the second receiver to start the season. Randle has never taken the reigns which means Beckham should see significant time early.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 16th
The Seahawks are planning to cut back Marshawn Lynch’s carries but about 40-50 which is just fueling the Christine Michael bandwagon. Michael is closing in on RB2 status for dynasty already and should be a RB1 next year.- Dynasty owners hoping to squeeze out a little more of Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis probably need to cut bait. He’s battling for a roster spot.
- In other Bengals news, expect Bengals receiver Marvin Jones production to spike up thanks to being named a full-time starter.
Daily Dynasty Update – July 15th
The reports don’t look good for Jets tight end Jace Amaro as he continues to look lost in camp. For dynasty purposes, Amaro is still a top three tight end but you’ll need to temper your expectations for 2014.- It looks like Tampa will go with Mason Foster at inside linebacker. Foster has a golden opportunity in Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 defensive scheme and should be a decent LB2/3.
- Stop me if you’ve heard this before but Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe looks good in camp. He still doesn’t have an elite quarterback throwing to him and no help at receiver.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Central
