Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Broncos beat Chargers, 28-20

  • Denver running back Knowshon Moreno continues to play at a high level with 65 yards rushing on 13 carries and eight catches for 49 yards. Moreno has a relatively cheap team option for next year and should get that if Denver wants to keep its offensive machine humming.
  • Denver rookie running back Montee Ball had 20 yards on four carries while, more importantly, not turning the ball over. Ball is getting valuable experience in one of the league’s best offenses.
  • Denver linebacker Danny Trevathan had 11 more tackles to bring his season total to 59. Trevathan has been a force in pass defense as well with three interceptions and eight passes defended.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Cardinals edge Texans, 27-24

  • The results on Houston quarterback Case Keenum were mixed as he threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions but only had a 4.7 YPA and did lose a fumble. No one doubts he’s been better than Matt Schaub but it remains to be seen if he’ll be a viable dynasty leaguer.
  • Arizona coach Bruce Arians is back to his old ways and giving the ball more to Rashard Mendenhall than to rookie Andre Ellington with Mendenhall getting 13 carries to Ellington’s 11. Ellington averaged two more yards per carry, providing even more proof of his superiority. Ellington is the long-term play in Arizona.
  • Texans running back Ben Tate didn’t exactly run away with the starting job, netting 56 yards rushing on 15 carries with three catches for eight yards. However, we won’t see Tate 100% until probably next season as he’s dealing with bruised ribs. He’s still a good long-term play.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Seahawks dominate Falcons, 33-10

  • Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson had a very efficient day going 19 of 26 for 287 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a 11 YPA. Wilson added 20 yards rushing. Wilson will never be flashy but he is young and in a good situation for dynasty leagues.
  • Meanwhile, Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan went 23 of 36 for 172 yards for a 4.8 YPA. This season is shot for Ryan but it makes him a good buy-low candidate.
  • Seattle rookie running back Christine Michael had 33 yards on eight carries. It’s the second game this season he’s had a 4.0 YPC out of the three he’s played. He’s showing competency in the Seattle offense and should be a bigger part of it next year.
  • Falcons linebacker Paul Worrilow had 19 tackles (again). The undrafted free agent replaced Stephen Nicholas as a starter on the Falcons defense where he should continue to rack up tackles.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Lions slip by Bears, 21-19

  • Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery continues to demand the most attention in the Bears passing game with an incredible 18 targets, catching half of those for 114 yards. Thanks to new coach Marc Trestman, Jay Cutler is passing the ball around and it’s working to Jeffery’s benefit.
  • Lions  tight end Brandon Pettigrew had his best game of the year with five catches and 70 yards. In his four-plus seasons in Detroit, Pettigrew has yet to break out and has shown what any tight end can do in that offense. His contract is up after this year and Detroit will almost surely look for an upgrade in the off-season.
  • Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch had another solid game with seven tackles. Tulloch is on pace for another 100 tackle season and should be in Detroit for a while.

Dynasty Fantasy Football – Week 10 – Eagles upend Packers, 27-13

  • Eagles quarterback Nick Foles had another efficient day going 12 of 18 for 228 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. There’s little doubt Foles will be the starter heading into 2014 with this kind of play. He has the weapons to be successful.
  • Eagles running back LeSean McCoy had a great day with 155 yards rushing on 25 carries. With Foles spreading the offense, it will open up holes for McCoy where he should be a top running back in dynasty leagues for 3-5 years.
  • Packers receiver Jarrett Boykin had 112 yards on eight catches where he was the top target on the day. Boykin is a name to watch next year when James Jones’ contract is up.
  • Packers rookie defensive end Datone Jones had two sacks and has three in his last two games. After not seeing action for most of the season, Jones is on a (small) roll. He’ll be a name to watch as a bargain next year with room for improvement.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Jaguars edge Titans, 29-27

  • Titans quarterback Jake Locker was wholly ineffective before being injured. He was 4/9 for 24 yards and an interception.
  • Titans receiver Kendall Wright continues to be the leading receiver for the Titans with nine targets and seven catches for 78 yards.
  • Jaguars linebacker Geno Hayes had another solid outing with 11 tackles and a pass defended. He’s currently on pace for about 100 tackles and is under contract for another team-friendly year. Hayes could be a decent LB3/4 option in dynasty leagues if you’re lacking in tackles.
  • Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan had his best game of the year with six tackles, a sack and two tackles for a loss. He got to the quarterback regularly with three quarterback hits as well. Morgan has had a sub-par season after a promising pre-season which makes him a potential buy-low candidate.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Rams scorch Colts, 38-8

  • Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton had another great day with seven catches on eight targets for 130 yards. Even as the primary receiving option, Hilton can’t be stopped.
  • Colts tight end Colby Fleener had 10 targets but only hauled in four catches for 33 yards. With Reggie Wayne out for the season, this is Fleener’s time to make himself indispensable before Dwayne Allen’s return next year.
  • Rams rookie receiver Tavon Austin had two catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns to go along with a punt return for a touchdown. I’d like to think of this as the beginning of a great fantasy career but Austin only had the two catches. Personally, I need more consistency before making a serious commitment.
  • The Rams defensive linemen duo of Robert Quinn and Chris Long had a combined eight tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. Either one will make a fine DL1 on dynasty teams.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Giants escape Raiders, 24-20

  • Giants running back Andre Brown had 115 yards rushing on 30 carries, solidifying his every down role with David Wilson out. Brown should be owned in dynasty circles with Wilson’s long-term health up in the air.
  • Raiders running back Rashad Jennings had an impressive 88 yards on 20 carries for a 4.4 YPC. He won’t be an option long-term but one might be able to trade him this year for an asset.
  • Raiders rookie linebacker Sio Moore had his best game of the year with nine tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
  • Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul had his first sack since the season opener. His play has diminished all year and you have to wonder if he can return to form. Hopefully he can regain his value.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 – Steelers dominate Bills, 23-10

  • There wasn’t a lot to like fantasy-wise. Steelers receiver Antonio Brown hauled in six catches for 104 yards. Brown is as an underrated receiver in dynasty circles as you can get.
  • Bills rookie linebacker Kiko Alonso had another 10 tackle day. He would warrant fantasy rookie of the year if there was such an award. He’s this years Luke Kuechly and will be a top five LB option in dynasty leagues.
  • Bills defensive lineman Jerry Hughes had two sacks to bring his streak to three games in a row with one. Hughes is a good cheap, option to look at for 2014 but not much more than that.

Dynasty Recap – Week 10 Recap – Ravens escape Bengals, 20-17 (OT)

  • Bengals running back Giovani Bernard led the team in carries with 14 and had 58 rushing to go along with an incredible eight catches for 37 yards. Bernard will definitely be the most well-rounded offensive rookie before the year is out.
  • Bengals rookie tight end Tyler Eifert had 10 targets but only hauled in three of them, wasting a golden opportunity with Jermaine Gresham out. Eifert is still being worked in the offense so it may not be until 2014 that he pays dividends.
  • Ravens receiver Torrey Smith had similar issues with only five catches on 14 targets. It will continue to be difficult for Smith to rack up stats if there’s no one in Baltimore to take some of the pressure off.
  • Bengals linebacker Vincent Rey had 15 tackles, three sacks, three passes defended and an interception. An unbelievable day that may be the peak of Rey’s NFL career. Don’t expect Rey to assume the starter role in dynasty circle.s
