Dynasty Recap – Week 6 – Packers escape Ravens, 19-17

  • Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy racked up 120 yards on 23 carries for a 5.2 YPC. Lacy continues to show he’s the real deal and a great compliment to the Packers passing game.
  • The Ravens have gone back to not getting Ray Rice the ball as he only had 14 carries to go along with three catches. As long as Jim Caldwell is the offensive coordinator in Baltimore, expect Ray Rice’s usage to fluctuate.
  • Meanwhile, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had an unusually efficient day with 342 yards and two touchdowns on 20/34 passing. Don’t expect that kind of play consistently as the Packers, on average, give up 288 yards passing a game. Flacco is still a fantasy dynasty backup at best.
  • With Packers receivers Randall Cobb and James Jones going out early due to injury, Jordy Nelson ended up with the most targets at 10. Expect that to continue if either Jones and/or Cobb miss any amount of time.

Dynasty Recap – Week 5 – Ravens escape Dolphins, 26-23

  • Baltimore committed to giving the ball to running back Ray Rice and they came through. Rice had 27 carries, more than double his season-high of 13, and had six catches on seven targets. Rice is still a top-tier dynasty running back so play him with ease.
  • With no Anquan Bolden or Dennis Pitta, Torrey Smith is averaging a little over 10 targets a game to go along with 27 catches for 556 yards. It’s amazing what he’s been able to do with a lack of support and solidifies him as a dynasty stud going forward.
  • Perennial boom-or-bust Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace had a ‘boom’ week with seven catches for 105 yards. Walllace, who’s never been consistent, along with an offense still trying to figure itself out doesn’t bode well for Wallace’s long-term prospects. Thanks to his big contract this off-season, he’ll get more chances but isn’t worth a long-term spot on your roster.
  • Rookie Ravens linebacker Arthur Brown continues to underwhelm and had only one tackle this week. Brown was drafted to take over Ray Lewis’ old spot on the inside but has yet to outplay veteran Daryl Smith. Smith will most likely be gone after this year as he was only signed to a one year deal so look for Brown to move in to the starting lineup in 2014. He’s a buy-low candidate.

Week 3 Dynasty Recap – Ravens beat Texans 30-9

  • Ravens running back Bernard Pierce, starting in place of Ray Rice, failed to impress with only 2.7 YPC on 24 carries. Tap the break on the Pierce train.
  • Houston running back Ben Tate carried the ball nine times compared to 12 times for Arian Foster. His 4.0 YPC did nothing to dispel the notion that he’ll start somewhere next year. Trade for him this year if you can.
  • Houston receiver DeAndre Hopkins led the team with six receptions for 60 yards. He’s going to be a stud.
  • Baltimore rookie safety Matt Elam isn’t quite there yet with his tackle numbers after just five today.
  • J.J. Watt did J.J Watt things and had nine tackles to go along with a sack and
