Updated Dynasty Wide Receiver Rankings – April 2015

Complete updated dynasty wide receiver rankings can be found here

  • It’s been awhile since our last rankings but above is the final look at wide receivers before the 2015 NFL Draft. The updated top five is now Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, A.J. Green, Demaryius Thomas, and Antonio Brown.
  • Interesting notes are Calvin Johnson not only dropping from the top spot but out of the top five completely.
  • Four of last year’s rookies, all first round picks are in the top 15: Odell Beckham at 7, Mike Evans at 8, Sammy Watkins at 12, and Kelvin Benjamin at 15. This year’s rookie class is talented too but we may have reached the apex of top receiver talent with so many out there.

Dynasty Recap – Week 11 – Falcons escape Panthers, 19-17

  • Panthers receiver Kelvin  Benjamin had another big game with nine catches for 109 yards and a touchdown and should be a WR1 in dynasty going forward.
  • Falcons receiver Roddy White continues to put off age with eight catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. White is still a solid WR3 option in dynasty despite his age.
  • Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly had another big day with 11 tackles and two passes defended. Even in a lost season, Kuechly continues to be the top LB in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 9 – Saints beat Panthers, 28-10

  • Saints quarterback Drew Brees had a good, not great, day with 297 yards and a touchdown. Certainly not the days from Brees were use to but Brees shouldn’t’ be  viewed as anything more than a mid-QB1 anyway.
  • Meanwhile, Saints tight end Jimmy Graham had seven catches for 83 yards and a touchdown which is more in-line with his usual production. He should continue to be an elite TE1 in dynasty formats even if Gronk challenges him for the top spot.
  • Panthers rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin had a horrible game with just two catches for 18 yards on ten targets. The targets are encouraging but it won’t happen again if Benjamin only secures two targets.
  • Saints linebacker Junior Galette had two more sacks to make it six on the year. He’s just getting warmed up as a sack specialist and should be viewed as a poor man’s Justin Houston and a LB2/3.

Dynasty Recap – Week 4 – Ravens destroy Panthers, 38-10

  • Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco went off for 327 yards and three touchdowns against a very good offense. Still, he’s no more than a low-end QB2 in dynasty leagues.
  • Ravens receiver Steve Smith turned back the clock with seven catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns. It’s a renaissance for Smith but his age limits his dynasty value. Only use him if you’re in win-now mode.
  • On the other side of the field, Panthers receiver Kelvin Benjamin led the team in targets with nine and hauled in five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Despite the attention he continues to deliver as a WR2/3 as a rookie. His dynasty arrow is pointing up.
  • Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly racked up 12 tackles and a pass defended, turning in another LB1 day. He’s squarely in the top-tier.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Panthers escape Bucs, 20-14

  • Panthers rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin had a nice debut with six catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. He looks like he’s a keeper and should start shooting up dynasty rankings.
  • Panthers tight end Greg Olsen continues to consistently perform as a low-end dynasty TE with eight catches for 83 yards and a touchdown.
  • Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly turned in a solid performance with nine tackles and a sack. He’s clearly in the top-tier of linebackers for IDP dynasty.
