Dynasty Recap – Week 7 – Patriots 30, Jets 23

Patriots

  • Tom Brady keeps on rolling with 355 yards and two touchdowns. He’s so far ahead of most quarterbacks that, despite the age, he has to be a top-five dynasty QB.
  • Likewise, Rob Gronkowski had 11 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown. He’s dynasty’s top TE. Period.
  • On defense, linebacker Jamie Collins led the way with 12 tackles plus a sack. He should be considered a LB1 in dynasty IDP formats.

Jets

  • Even though he’s not the long-term answer, Ryan Fitzpatrick is a solid option this season. Today, he had 295 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. It’s possible you could sell him this year to a win-now team.
  • Receiver Eric Decker continues to provide value under the radar with six catches for 94 yards and a team-high 12 targets. Decker has succeeded despite changes in coaches and quarterbacks.
  • Defensive end Sheldon Richardson added another sack in his second game back. He’s a DL1 when healthy and playing but it’s anyone’s  guess if he’ll be back with New York next year. I might try to sell high.

Dynasty Recap – Week 7 – Patriots escape Jets, 27-25

  • Patriots quarterback Tom Brady continues to string together solid performances with 261 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. If he keeps this up, he’ll re-enter the low-end QB1 conversation.
  • Jets running back Chris Ivory put on a clinic with 107 yards rushing and a touchdown to go along with four catches and 18 yards. If they keep giving him the ball, he’s squarely in the RB2 conversation.
  • Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had another solid day with five catches and 68 yards while leading the team with 10 targets. And while Gronkowski is clearly a TE1, it’s hard to view him as the elite option he used to be.
  • Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins had a breakout game with 13 tackles, his most in a game this season. Collins was expected to be a LB2 candidate this season but hasn’t shown it yet. Maybe this game will be the start.
