Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Cowboys 27, Giants 26

Cowboys

  • Tony Romo was his usual gunslinger self with 356 yards and three touchdowns (plus two interceptions). He’s, at worst, a low-end QB1 in dynasty leagues but has room to grow now that Dallas has little depth at running back.
  • Speaking of, Joseph Randle had a decent day on the ground with 65 rushing yards plus three catches for 42 yards. This may be a best-case scenario for Randle throughout the season which makes him a RB2 in dynasty, at best.
  • The main beneficiary of Dez Bryant’s absence had to be tight end Jason Witten with eight catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Witten’s stats have gone down the last three seasons but he could be due for a resurgence without DeMarco Murray carrying the load. He’s a low-end TE1.

Giants

  • An all-around bad night for the Giants started with Eli Manning. Going only 20 of 36 for 193 yards isn’t good for anyone. It’s only one game but Eli is still a QB2.
  • With Eli turning in a clunker, Odell Beckham did too with just five catches for 44 yards. Beckham is rated as a WR1 in dynasty leagues but it might not be a bad idea to see him have another great year before anointing him as such.
  • Very little going on in the run game as well with lead back Rashad Jennings going for 52 yards on 13 carries. Andre Williams got six carries so Jennings is, by no means, a bell cow. His ceiling will be a RB3.

  • Notable drops include Justin Blackmon from 47th to 59th, no doubt thanks to the news that the Jags are ready to cut ties with him; and Terrance Williams from 51st to 63rd, primarily to the improvement of slot-man Cole Beasley.

Dynasty Recap – Week 7 – Cowboys beat Giants, 31-21

  • Giants quarterback Eli Manning had another throwback game with 248 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Manning keeps making a play for low-end QB1 play but in dynasty is probably still a QB2.
  • Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray continues his hot streak with 128 yards and a touchdown. He’s fantasy’s top running back this year and is moving into the elite status.
  • Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant did his thing with nine catches and 151 yards. He’s our top dynasty receiver going forward.
  • With Victor Cruz out, Giants tight end Larry Donnell took advantage with seven catches for 90 yards. Donnell has come out of nowhere to be a low-end TE1 this year but should be at leafs a TE2 in dynasty formats.

Dynasty Recap – Week 5 – Cowboys escape Texans, 20-17

  • Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo  had another good outing with 324 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Romo’s long-term health is in doubt but he is a low-end QB1 as long as he’s around.
  • Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray continues his torrid pace with 136 yards rushing to go with six catches for 56 yards. He’s been a top RB this year but a lot of uncertainty surrounds him including injury questions. Might not be a bad idea to sell high – really high.
  • On the other side of the field, Texans running back Arian Foster had a throwback game with
  • As long as Romo keeps producing, so will Dez Bryant. He led the team with nine catches on 14 targets and 84 yards plus a touchdown.

Dynasty Recap – Week 2 – Cowboys beat Titans, 26-10

  • Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is making it hard to deny him as a RB1 in dynasty formats. He tore the Titans apart for 167 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
  • Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant did Dez Bryant things with 10 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown. He can make a claim for top WR in dynasty.
  • Titans tight end Delanie Walker busted out for 142 yards on 10 catches and a touchdown. Walker could be a decent safety valve for whoever is the quarterback in Tennessee and should top out as a high-end TE2.
  • Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain racked up seven tackles, a sack, and an interception. With as much as Dallas’ defense should be on the field, McClain could be a good play this year but not beyond.
