Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Bengals beat Ravens, 23-16

  • Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a 300 yard passing game with one touchdown. Dalton has quietly gotten better each year and shouldn’t be ignored in dynasty.
  • Good news for Gio Bernard owners is his leading the carry count 14-4 while seeing a team-high 10 targets. He had 20 touches for 110 yards. A solid outing.
  • Newsflash: A.J. Green is good.
  • On the Ravens side, it looks like Dennis Pitta is back in a big way with 10 catches for 83 yards. He should be a TE1 in dynasty leagues.
  • Young Bengals linebacker Emmanuel Lamur led the team with 11 tackles and a half sack.

Dynasty Recap – Wild Card – Chargers upset Bengals, 27-10

  • Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a game to forget, going 29 of 51 for 334 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and one fumble. Dalton’s never been a QB1 prospect in dynasty circles and this game just proved it, despite Cincinnati’s success this year. If you’re a Dalton owner, you might start looking at a trade.
  • Bengals rookie running back Giovani Bernard ended his rookie year doing what he does best – catching the ball. He caught seven passes for 73 yards while adding 45 yards on the ground. Bernard is a legit RB2 prospect in dynasty.
  • Bengals receiver Marvin Jones had a big day, catching eight passes on an amazing 12 targets for 130 yards. Jones will enter 2014 as the second receiver in Cincinnati and should be square on the WR3/4 radar in dynasty leagues.
  • The Chargers didn’t do much in the air but leading the way was Ladarius Green, catching three passes (a 1/4 of Philip Rivers completions) for 34 yards and a touchdown. His stock will be sky-high heading in to 2014.

Dynasty Recap – Week 17 – Bengals beat Ravens, 34-17

  • Bengals rookie running back Giovani Bernard had only 22 yards on 13 carries but added five catches for 51 yards. He’ll be bordering a RB1 heading in to 2014.
  • Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta led the Ravens in targets (11), catches (8), and yards (63). Pitta has made an amazing comeback after a severe hip injury early in the season. He’ll be a top ten dynasty tight end in 2014.
  • Bengals receiver Marvin Jones had five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown, capping an impressive 2013. He’ll most likely be the second receiver behind A.J. Green in Cincinnati next year and could be an intriguing prospect
  • Ravens safety Matt Elam had 10 more tackles to cap off a nice three game stretch to end the year. His 26 tackles, tackle for a loss, and interception in those three games bodes well for 2014.

Dynasty Recap – Week 15 – Steelers dominate Bengals, 30-20

  • Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell has yet to establish an effective running game with only 646 yards on 198 carries for a 3.3 YPC. However, he’s added 43 catches for 388 yards. As long as he can continue to progress his running game, Bell will still be able to get his catches.
  • Bengals receiver A.J. Green had a solid outing with nine catches for 93 yards. He should set a new career-high for yards in a season and will challenge Dez Bryant for #2 receiver in dynasty in 2014.
  • Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict had 12 more tackles to give him 151 on the season with two games to go. Burfict leads the league at just 23 years old and is a legit LB1 in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Bengals survive Colts, 42-28

  • Colts quarterback Andrew Luck looked like the dynasty franchise quarterback we all expected him to be, going 29 of 46 for 326 yards for a 7.1 YPA and four touchdowns with zero turnovers. Let’s hope this kind of play continues.
  • Bengals running back Giovani Bernard had another solid outing with 99 yards rushing on just 12 attempts, for an 8.3 YPC, to go along with four catches for 49 yards. Bernard is only scratching the surface of his production and with BenJarvus Green-Ellis only under contract for one more year at most, he should be even better next year.
  • Colts rookie receiver Da’Rick Rogers went off for six catches, gaining 107 yards and two touchdowns. Only playing due to injuries on the team, Rogers made the most of it and lived up to the pre-season hype he had in Buffalo…at least for today. It’ll be interesting to see if his quarterback keeps looking his way down the stretch.
  • Colts safety Antoine Bethea had a team-high 17 tackles. It’s his first double-digit tackle game since week one of a disappointing season. Bethea will be 30 heading in to next season and is surely on the decline of his career with his tackle numbers and passes defended numbers going down again. Avoid in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 13 – Bengals beat Chargers, 17-10

  • Chargers rookie receiver Keenan Allen had another good game with eight receptions for 106 yards. There’s no doubt that Allen is the top target in San Diego and will be considered a WR1 heading in to the 2014 season in dynasty leagues.
  • Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict had 13 more tackles to bring him 118 on the year. The 23-year old is a LB1 in dynasty circles, hands-down.
  • Fellow Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga had 10 tackles of his own and a sack. Him starting put to rest any notions that backup Vincent Rey would overtake him.
