- Jets quarterback Geno Smith had an up and down day going 23 of 28 for 221 yards, a touchdown, an interception and a lost fumble. It’s looking more and more like that’s what a typical Geno Smith day will look like. He can be downgraded in dynasty.
- The Jets running game was split with Chris Ivory going for 10 and 102 yards (and a touchdown) and Chris Johnson getting 13 carries for 68 yards. Johnson added five catches for 23 points and a touchdown. Johnson would be the better play in PPR leagues.
- Eric Decker left no doubt about who the top receiver is in New York with five catches for 74 yards and led the team in targets.
- A bright spot for the Raiders was on the IDP side with linebacker Sio Moore racking up 13 tackles and a sack. With those numbers, Moore could be a LB2 in dynasty leagues.
Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Texans escape Redskins, 14-6
- If today’s any indication, the Redskins will be passing often. RGIII had 37 attempts for 267 yards. He only ran three times. It’s officially time to be concerned about his dynasty value.
- However, the Washington receivers should have good seasons with Pierre Garcon getting 10 receptions for 77 yards and DeSean Jackson getting eight catches for 62 yards. Both should continue to get WR2 numbers.
- On the Houston side, Arian Foster looked like his old self with 103 yards rushing. As long as he’s healthy, he should be a decent RB2 going forward in dynasty leagues.
- As for the Houston receivers, Andre Johnson does what he always does with six catches for 93 yards on nine targets. He’ll be a WR2 for a few more years. Meanwhile, second-year receiver DeAndre Hopkins went four for 89 yards and a touchdown. He should continue to ascend.
Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Seahawks 36, Packers 16
- Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson does what he does – 191 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers. He also added 29 yards on the ground. It’s not sexy but he’ll produce.
- Beast mode was in full effect as Marshawn Lynch ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Christine Michael may be the future but Lynch can still produce.
- One of the bright spots for the Packers was Jordy Nelson picking up where he left off with nine catches for 83 yards. He also led the team with 14 targets and it wasn’t close.
- On the IDP side, Bobby Wagner proved his LB1 chops with 14 tackles.
Daily Dynasty Update – September 3rd
As if dynasty folks didn’t need more of a reason to stash Cody Latimer, Wes Welker gets popped for four games.- The Jaguars will roll with Denard Robinson as the primary backup to Toby Gerhart over Jordan Todman. The news is significant as Jacksonville is expected to go run-heavy and Robinson could see value if Gerhart is injured.
- In Philadelphia, expect Chris Polk to be the primary backup to running back LeSean McCoy. Darren Sproles will strictly be used as a passing back.

Daily Dynasty Update – September 2nd
In semi-surprising news, Derek Carr will be the starter in Oakland over Matt Schaub. Carr will officially be the first quarterback from this rookie class to see action. We should know quickly what his long-term prospects will be.- After cutting Dion Lewis and Chris Ogbonnaya, and Terrance West failed to impress, Ben Tate is in line to be a work horse in Cleveland. His stock is on the rise.
- Backup quarterback Ryan Mallett was traded to Houston over the holiday. He’s expected to back up Ryan Fitzpatrick and help raw project Tom Savage. We don’t see Mallett being a prospect anytime soon. If anything, it helps Jimmy Garoppolo’s dynasty stock.
- Giants receiver Odell Beckham is still nursing a hamstring injury. His dynasty stock continues to drop due to inactivity.

Daily Dynasty Update – August 27th
The news was expected but was finalized today – Josh Gordon will be suspended the season. If there was anytime to pick him up, now is it.- The Bucs traded tight end Tim Wright to the Patriots for guard Logan Mankins. Use the Wright hype to get something substantial as we can’t see him improving on his 54/571 line last year.
- Wes Welker is on track to play in Week 1 despite a concussion suffered in the pre-season. For dynasty purposes, Welker is off the radar.
- Those holding on to Giants tight end Adrien Robinson in can safely move on as its expected to be a committee in New York.

Daily Dynasty Update – August 25th
- It’s looking more and more like Derek Carr might be the first rookie quarterback to play when it counts. Matt Schaub has looked awful. Carr has some talent around him to stay tuned.
- Carr may be first because the Vikings have named Matt Cassel the starter over Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater is still expected to start this season barring a comeback from Cassel.
- Jaguars rookie receiver Allen Robinson will sit out again meaning his dynasty value may never be lower. Now would be a great time to pick him up in dynasty leagues.

Your dynasty questions answered, part XIV
We continue our ongoing series of answering your dynasty questions. Today we cover the deep sleepers. Jeff asks,
I’m in a deep dynasty league (40 player rosters X 12 teams) and have the opportunity to pick up some of the leftovers from the waiver wire. Our wire currently includes guys like Juwan Thompson, Jeff Janis, Damien Williams (the RB, not the WR), Kevin Ogletree and a handful of other really deep sleeper types. If you had to pick two from the list above, who would it be? And would you recommend any other super deep guys?
With rosters that big, you have to go dumpster diving. However, occasionally you’ll find some gold down there. From the group you mentioned above, I’d go Juwan Thompson and Jeff Janis.
- My favorite of the group would be Janis. He’s 6′ 3″ (yes, size matters as explained by this very good article about receivers and height), on a very good, pass-happy offense that has stability, and is a rookie. I’d keep Janis with an eye on 2015.
- Juwan Thompson is part of the merry-go-round known as the Broncos running back corps. There never seems to be certainty in Denver which means anyone could be called on at anytime including Thompson. Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson are JAG’s. Thompson can already pass protect and play special teams, where he’ll probably spend most of his time.
- Another sleeper I’d consider is Brandon Williams, tight end from Carolina. He’s 6′ 3″ with a 4.5 40-time and earned high marks in the run game this pre-season. As Greg Olsen can attest, Carolina uses their tight ends more than most and Williams has only Ed Dickson ahead of him on the depth chart.

A new entry in the top five with Johnathan Cyprien. The top five in order is Harrison Smith, Morgan Burnett, Cyprien, Earl Thomas, and Mark Barron. - The big drops include Eric Berry from 2 to 6 and rookie Deone Bucannon from 21 to 27.
- Some risers include Malcolm Jenkins from 24 to 20; Antrelle Rolle from 32 to 26; and Major Wright from 34 to 30.

Your Dynasty Questions Answered Here, Part XIII
We roll on with your dynasty fantasy football questions answered. Ryan asks:
I am in a keeper “by round drafted” league and need to keep 2 of the guys listed. I think I have some great options. I’ve got it listed in order of how I am leaning now, but I could justify picking several of these guys. Help!
- Alshon Jeffrey – 10th
- Jimmy Graham – 3rd
- Eddie Lacy – 3rd
- Keenan Allen – undrafted
- Dez Bryant – 2nd
- Andrew Luck – 5th
That’s quite the roster you accumulated and hope you went far last year! As for this year, you have to look at the value you’re getting. First, I would keep Jimmy Graham if it means giving up ‘only’ a third rounder. If you check out his average ADP, Graham is going in the first round in most drafts. Only giving up a third is a value and gives you an elite option at tight end.
The second option is a little trickier. For me, it’s between Alshon Jeffery and a 10th and Keenan Allen, who was undrafted. His 89/1,421/7 line was incredible and should continue in the same offense as last year. Allen had a very good season with 71/1,046/8 but is not in the same offense as Jeffery. Both provide good value with later picks but I give the edge to Jeffery.
