- Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford did not have a good day, going 25 of 42 for 222 yards and two interceptions with no touchdowns. He had a largely ineffective Calvin Johnson going which shows, yet again, how Stafford performs without him. It’s an interesting case for 2014.
- Lions running back Joique Bell took over the running back role in Detroit with 91 yards rushing on 20 carries and a touchdown along with ten catches for 63 yards. If Stafford fails to get anything going downfield, Bell is looking like his safety valve.
- Giants linebacker Jon Beason continues to play well with his new team, racking up 11 more tackles. He’s had 84 tackles in 10 games in New York. His cap number in 2014 shoots up so don’t expect Beason back.

Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Steelers escape Packers, 38-31
- Steelers rookie running back Le’Veon Bell had his breakout game on the ground with 124 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown. This is the game dynasty owners were waiting for and should bode well for 2014.
- Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy also had a good game with 84 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns. Also viewed as a top rookie prospect before the year, Lacy has proved his worth.
- Steelers receiver Antonio Brown continues his stellar season with six catches for 105 yards. He’s a low-end WR1 heading in to 2014.
- Packers receiver James Jones had nine catches for 84 yards to lead the way for Green Bay. Jones is a free agent after this year and could play somewhere else next year. If so, his value drops significantly.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Chargers beat up Raiders, 26-13
- Chargers running back Ryan Mathews continues his solid year with 99 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown. He also added three catches for 20 yards. Mathews will be an interesting dynasty asset next year as he’ll be back in San Diego but can he stay healthy?
- Raiders running back Rashad Jennings had a solid day with 45 yards on 10 carries. He also added three catches for 27 yards. Jennings has earned a starting job this year but you never know what the brain trust is thinking in Oakland for next year.
- Raiders receiver Andre Holmes continues to grind away, leading the team in targets with eight, catches with five, and yards with 71. Holmes was a great combine prospect and would be best served with decent quarterback play.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Cardinals shock Seahawks,
- The Cardinals running attached was more of the same. Incumbent Rashard Mendenhall ran for 63 yards on 21 carries for a 3 YPC. Meanwhile, Andre Ellington went for 64 yards on 15 carries and a 4.3 YPC. Ellington dynasty owners pray that Mendenhall won’t be back.
- Seattle safety Kam Chancellor had 11 tackles and an interception. He’s been outshone by fellow safety Earl Thomas all year but today was vintage Chancellor. Him and Thomas are fairly interchangeable as far as Seattle safeties.
- Arizona defensive end Calais Campbell had two more sacks on the day, giving him eight on the year. Campbell is a highly effective dynasty DL as his stat sheet is pretty diverse. He has 53 tackles on the year along with six passes defended.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Bills blank Dolphins, 19-0
- Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill wast just bad. He went 10 of 27 for 82 yards. Of course, getting sacked seven times doesn’t help either. Long term, it doesn’t look like Tannehill will be the answer.
- The Bills run game had a good day with Fred Jackson running for 111 yards on just 19 carries and CJ Spiller going 77 yards on 20 carries. It’s hard to say if Buffalo will keep the timeshare going into next year. Jackson is under contract for one more year and has been a surprise in his age-32 season. It’s entirely possible we’re in this same spot next year.
- Bills rookie receiver Robert Woods tied for the lead in targets with five and had three catches for 70 yards. Woods hasn’t had quite as productive of a year as dynasty leaguers had hoped but with E.J. Manual heading in to his second year, the hope is the whole offense will progress.
- Bills safety Leodis McKelvin filled the stat sheet with six tackles, four passes defended and an interception. He now has 20 passes defended for the year, setting a career-high.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Colts beat up on Chiefs, 23-7
- Colts quarterback Andrew Luck looked a little like his old self, going 26 of 37 for 241 yards and a touchdown. Hopefully Luck can continue the positive play before heading in to 2014.
- Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles continues his fantasy MVP season with 106 rushing yards on only 13 carries added 38 yards receiving on five catches. He also added a touchdown. Charles is a top five player in any fantasy league.
- Colts running back Trent Richardson – 16 carries. 43 yards. 2.7 YPC. He’s just not good at running the ball. His lone redeeming quality lately is his pass catching ability. Today he caught three for 15 yards but that won’t be enough to warrant a dynasty roster spot.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Rams beat Buccaneers, 23-13
- The Rams pounded the ball with Zac Stacy, giving him the ball 33 times for 104 yards, and a touchdown. Stacy will be an intriguing RB2 dynasty prospect heading in to 2014 and the Rams have shown they’re committed.
- Rams rookie receiver Stedman Bailey led the team in targets and catches with three out of five targets for 44 yards. He also had a 27 yard touchdown run. It wasn’t much but Bailey should be monitored in dynasty circles.
- Buccaneers receiver Vincent Jackson had five catches for 98 yards. Jackson is at 1,000 yards again with a 15+ YPC. Should Tampa draft a quarterback in the draft, Jackson’s stock will improve.
- Rams lineman Robert Quinn led the defense with three more sacks. He now has a league-leading 18 on the year and is establishing himself as the top-rated lineman in dynasty leagues.
- Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David had 11 more tackles, giving him 137 for the year. He also added a fumble recovery. David is solidifying himself as a Tier 1 LB in dynasty heading in to 2014.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Jets beat Browns, 24-13
- Today was a good day with Geno Smith going 20 of 36 for 214 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 48 yards rushing. Depending on coach Rex Ryan’s future, Smith could be back as the starter next year.
- Jets running back Chris Ivory had 109 yards on 20 rushes, showing dynasty owners what he’s capable of when given the chance. He’ll be a low-end RB2, high-end RB3 next year.
- Browns receiver Josh Gordon bounced back a little with six catches for 97 yards. He’s firmly entrenched as a Tier 1 receiver for 2014 and the settling of the quarterback situation should only solidify that.
- Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson had 11 more tackles for 132 on the year. There were some questions about Jackson adjusting to the new 3-4 defensive scheme but he’s squashed those. He’ll be a LB1 heading in to 2014.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Cowboys escape Redskins 24-23
- Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray ran for 96 yards on 22 carries for a 4.4 YPC with three catches for 15 yards. Murray is extremely effective this year with a 5.5 YPC. If the Cowboys do make a coaching move, hopefully the new regime utilize him more.
- Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon had 11 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. With his age and talent, Garcon is a low-end WR1 heading in to 2014 but is more of a high-end WR2. Washington should also solidify its quarterback situation as well.
- Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter led the team in tackles with 11. Carter’s had an uneven season and is highly questionable to return with many changes expected in the Cowboys defense.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 Recap – Broncos destroy Texans, 37-13
- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a great day with 400 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. No words.
- Broncos receiver Eric Decker went off with 10 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns. So did Demaryius Thomas with eight catches for 123 yards and another touchdown. They probably won a few teams some championships.
- Texans rookie tight end Ryan Griffin had five more catches for 66 yards as the starter. Griffin is an interesting asset in dynasty leagues as Houston will look to re-build next year and Griffin’s youth and cheap contract will look attractive.
