Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Vikings destroy Rams, 34-6

  • Vikings receiver Cordarrelle Patterson had a big day with over 100 yards rushing and a touchdown to go along with three catches for 26 yards. He’ll be a boom or bust player each week. We’re not sold on his dynasty prospects as a reliable receiver just yet.
  • Rams receiver Brian Quick had a big day with seven catches for 99 yards. Quick has had promise for quite some time but one game will not change years of data.
  • On the IDP side, Vikings defensive lineman Everson Griffen had two sacks today which is a great start. He should be a low-end DL1 in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Steelers escape Browns, 30-27

  • As expected, the Steelers offense was on fire. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 365 yards and a touchdown with one interception. He should continue to put up those numbers and be a low-end QB1 in dynasty leagues.
  • Le’Veon Bell had his best day as a pro with 109 yards rushing along with six catches for 88 yards. This should solidify his status as a low-end RB1 in dynasty leagues.
  • Receiver Antonio Brown had a big day as well with 116 yards on five catches. He should continue to be firmly in the second-tier of dynasty receivers.
  • On the Cleveland side, rookie running back Terrance West got 100 yards after Ben Tate left with an injury.
  • Browns receiver Andrew Hawkins led the team with eight catches for 87 yards. He also led the team with 10 targets and should be a good volume play.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Eagles double up Jaguars 34-17

  • After a slow start, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns. He should continue to be a QB1 option in dynasty leagues.
  • Eagles running back LeSean McCoy had a good overall day with 74 yards on the ground with six catches for 41 yards.
  • On the Jaguars side, Marqise Lee led the team in targets with 10 and had six catches for 62 yards.
  • On the IDP side, linebacker Paul Posluszney led the team (again) with 12 tackles. He continues to be a LB1 in tackle-heavy leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Bengals beat Ravens, 23-16

  • Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton had a 300 yard passing game with one touchdown. Dalton has quietly gotten better each year and shouldn’t be ignored in dynasty.
  • Good news for Gio Bernard owners is his leading the carry count 14-4 while seeing a team-high 10 targets. He had 20 touches for 110 yards. A solid outing.
  • Newsflash: A.J. Green is good.
  • On the Ravens side, it looks like Dennis Pitta is back in a big way with 10 catches for 83 yards. He should be a TE1 in dynasty leagues.
  • Young Bengals linebacker Emmanuel Lamur led the team with 11 tackles and a half sack.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1- Bills beat Bears, 23-20

  • Jay Cutler did Jay Cutler things with 349 yards passing, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Expect more of the same, making him a borderline QB1 in dynasty leagues.
  • Matt Forte had a big day with 82 yards rushing followed by eight catches for 87 yards. He continues to be a RB1 in dynasty leagues.
  • For the Bills, CJ Spiller got 15 carries compared to Fred Jackson’s 7, which is encouraging.
  • Bears tight end Martellus Bennett had a big day with eight catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. With potential injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall, Bennett could be a factor.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Titans take down Chiefs, 26-10

  • Somehow, Titans quarterback Jake Locker had 266 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.
  • In the running game, Shonn Greene was your lead back with 15 carries followed by Dexter McCluster with nine carries and rookie Bishop Sankey with six. Sankey is still ranked high but needs to start closing the gap to be a value in dynasty.
  • On the other side of the field, Jamaal Charles had only 19 yards on 7 carries with four catches for 15 yards. The Chiefs were behind most of the game and could explain his lack of production. Not time to worry yet.
  • On the IDP side, Eric Berry had a game-high 15 tackles to go along with a pass defended. He’s a DB1 in all dynasty formats.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Miami beats down Patriots, 33-20

  • Holy crap – Tom Brady had 56 pass attempts and completed only 29 of them. He added 249 yards and a touchdown. If this game is any indication, the Patriots will be chucking it this season. If you’re a win-now dynasty team, Brady could be useful.
  • Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made his triumphant return with four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. He also led the team in targets. He should quickly re-affirm his status as an elite dynasty tight end.
  • In other Patriot receiver news, Julian Edelman picked up where he left off with six catches for 95 yards. He should continue to be a WR in PPR dynasty going forward.
  • For Miami, there’s no more doubt who is the top option in the running game as Knowshon Moreno went off for 24 carries and 134 yards and a touchdown. Lamar Miller can be dropped.
  • In IDP news, Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo had 12 tackles and a sack. He’s a legit LB1 in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Jets sloppily beat Raiders, 19-14

  • Jets quarterback Geno Smith had an up and down day going 23 of 28 for 221 yards, a touchdown, an interception and a lost fumble. It’s looking more and more like that’s what a typical Geno Smith day will look like. He can be downgraded in dynasty.
  • The Jets running game was split with Chris Ivory going for 10 and 102 yards (and a touchdown) and Chris Johnson getting 13 carries for 68 yards. Johnson added five catches for 23 points and a touchdown. Johnson would be the better play in PPR leagues.
  • Eric Decker left no doubt about who the top receiver is in New York with five catches for 74 yards and led the team in targets.
  • A bright spot for the Raiders was on the IDP side with linebacker Sio Moore racking up 13 tackles and a sack. With those numbers, Moore could be a LB2 in dynasty leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Texans escape Redskins, 14-6

  • If today’s any indication, the Redskins will be passing often. RGIII had 37 attempts for 267 yards. He only ran three times. It’s officially time to be concerned about his dynasty value.
  • However, the Washington receivers should have good seasons with Pierre Garcon getting 10 receptions for 77 yards and DeSean Jackson getting eight catches for 62 yards. Both should continue to get WR2 numbers.
  • On the Houston side, Arian Foster looked like his old self with 103 yards rushing. As long as he’s healthy, he should be a decent RB2 going forward in dynasty leagues.
  • As for the Houston receivers, Andre Johnson does what he always does with six catches for 93 yards on nine targets. He’ll be a WR2 for a few more years. Meanwhile, second-year receiver DeAndre Hopkins went four for 89 yards and a touchdown. He should continue to ascend.

Dynasty Recap – Week 1 – Seahawks 36, Packers 16

  • Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson does what he does – 191 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers. He also added 29 yards on the ground. It’s not sexy but he’ll produce.
  • Beast mode was in full effect as Marshawn Lynch ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Christine Michael may be the future but Lynch can still produce.
  • One of the bright spots for the Packers was Jordy Nelson picking up where he left off with nine catches for 83 yards. He also led the team with 14 targets and it wasn’t close.
  • On the IDP side, Bobby Wagner proved his LB1 chops with 14 tackles.
