- For the last few games, and even in this one, it looked like Tom Brady was back. He went 32 of 52 for 418 yards, two touchdowns and a pick. Of course, that was before the latest Rob Gronkowski injury. Stay tuned to see how Brady adjusts (again).
- Browns receiver Josh Gordon did things again. Catching seven for 151 and a touchdown, it’s fair to wonder if Gordon has reached the top-tier of dynasty receivers.
- Patriots running back Shane Vereen had quite the day out of the backfield, catching 12 for 153 yards. He even included a rushing touchdown. Vereen is under contract for one more year when he could be ‘Woodheaded’ out of New England but, for now, Vereen is a fine dynasty running back, especially in PPR leagues.

Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Packers edge Falcons, 22-21
- Falcons receiver Roddy White had his second straight positive performance with eight catches for 74 yards on 10 targets. With stories of White and the Falcons revising his deal to ensure he comes back, he’ll still be a decent WR3 for a few years.
- Packers tight end Andrew Quarless had his best receiving day as a pro with six catches for 66 yards. Don’t expect anything more than that as Quarless is a free agent and athletically gifted Brandon Bostick is waiting in the wings.
- Falcons rookie linebacker Paul Worrilow continued his impressive season with 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a tackles for a loss and a pass defended. By all accounts, Worrilow is the real deal who needs to be owned in dynasty leagues in 2014 and beyond.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 Recap – Ravens edge Vikings, 29-26
- Vikings rookie receiver Cordarrelle Patterson had his best game as a pro, going for 141 yards on five catches and a touchdown. He also added 111 kick return yards. Patterson appears to be the real deal and, with noting to play for, the Vikings could finally unleash his talent.
- Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta made a strong comeback from a hip injury with six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown. He also tied for the team lead in targets with 11. Pitta’s injury obviously hasn’t hampered his role in the offense. He should climb back up the dynasty tight end rankings soon.
- Vikings linebacker Audie Cole continued his surprisingly good play in the middle with 13 more tackles. In the three games he’s played since taking over for Erin Henderson, Cole has racked up 35 tackles, a sack, two tackles for a loss and a pass defended. It’s very possible Cole ends up with the job next year as the Vikings have much bigger holes to fill.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Bengals survive Colts, 42-28
- Colts quarterback Andrew Luck looked like the dynasty franchise quarterback we all expected him to be, going 29 of 46 for 326 yards for a 7.1 YPA and four touchdowns with zero turnovers. Let’s hope this kind of play continues.
- Bengals running back Giovani Bernard had another solid outing with 99 yards rushing on just 12 attempts, for an 8.3 YPC, to go along with four catches for 49 yards. Bernard is only scratching the surface of his production and with BenJarvus Green-Ellis only under contract for one more year at most, he should be even better next year.
- Colts rookie receiver Da’Rick Rogers went off for six catches, gaining 107 yards and two touchdowns. Only playing due to injuries on the team, Rogers made the most of it and lived up to the pre-season hype he had in Buffalo…at least for today. It’ll be interesting to see if his quarterback keeps looking his way down the stretch.
- Colts safety Antoine Bethea had a team-high 17 tackles. It’s his first double-digit tackle game since week one of a disappointing season. Bethea will be 30 heading in to next season and is surely on the decline of his career with his tackle numbers and passes defended numbers going down again. Avoid in dynasty leagues.
Dynasty Recap – Week 14 – Jaguars down Texans, 27-20
- Texans quarterback Case Keenum was a disaster, going 16 of 29 for 159 yards, a touchdown and an interception. It’s safe to say Houston will not roll with Keenum at quarterback in 2014.
- Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew looked like his old, explosive self, going for 103 yards rushing on 14 carries including a vintage 48-yard run. He also added two catches for 20 yards. Jones-Drew is a free agent next year and won’t come close to his old self but could be a great change-of-pace back for his next team.
- Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson proved, yet again, that he’s quarterback-proof, hauling in 13 catches for 154 yards. Now, Johnson is also the only reliable receiving threat on a bad team and his value could change if he changes teams. But he’s about as reliable as it gets.
- Jaguars rookie safety Johnathan Cyprien had 11 tackles for his second straight double-digit tackle game. He’s up to 89 for the year and will easily pass 100. Cyprien is a good, young player on a young team that will only get younger. Keep an eye out.
Daily Dynasty Update – December 5th
- Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is likely to miss another game and may miss the rest of the season. It’s less than ideal for Rodgers owners in fantasy playoffs but it’s better to have Rodgers for many more year.
- Colts running back Trent Richardson felt forced into the Colts starting lineup after his mid-season trade. He wasn’t able to learn the offense quickly enough and his play suffered. With the rest of the season and a whole off-season to learn it, Richardson could be a decent buy-low candidate.
- Don’t expect Bears quarterback Jay Cutler to be franchise tagged this year. Now, that doesn’t mean the free agent won’t be back in Chicago but, if he is, it’ll be the result of a new contract. It sets up an interesting story of a top-15 quarterback (when healthy) being on the open market. Quarterback-starved teams like Minnesota or Houston, who were in the playoffs just a year ago, might consider signing Cutler. Stay tuned.
- Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson has been demoted and, turns out, was never the first choice to play middle linebacker. It was only out of necessity, according to Coach Leslie Frazier. Audie Cole will play the middle the rest of the season.
Dynasty Recap – Week 13 – Seahawks destroy Saints, 27-7
- Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson continues to separate himself among the second-tier of dynasty quarterbacks. He went 22 of 30 for 310 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 47 yards on the ground. Wilson will never put him Peyton-like numbers but can be relied on a weekly basis to put up decent numbers.
- Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton led the team with 12 tackles. Of course, with the Seahawks running 69 plays, someone was bound to make a ton of tackles. But back to Lofton, he now has 98 tackles through 3/4 of the season. His passes defended is way down from the last two years, where he had seven each year, as opposed to the two this year. Lofton is signed cheaply through at least the next two years and is just 27. He’s a good dynasty LB if you’re weak on tackles.
- Meanwhile, Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner continues to display LB1 performances with 11 tackles and a pass defended. On the year, he’s got 80 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions and five passes defended. At just 23, he’s a LB1 in all dynasty leagues.
Dynasty Recap – Week 13 – Giants beat Redskins, 24-17
- Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had a decent night, going 24 of 32 for 207 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 88 yards. However, these games have been few and far in between. Year three for RG3 will be the real test on just how good he can be.
- Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon led the team in targets (again) with 12, hauling in nine for 61 yards but did lose a fumble. At least Garcon’s play hasn’t suffered along with RG3’s. As long as he’s the top target in Washington, he’ll get his.
- Giants linebacker Jon Beason had 17 tackles along with a tackle for a loss. Since being traded from Carolina, Beason has put together 57 tackles in seven games and played well. However, with a huge raise in store for 2014, Beason will likely be cut and on the move. Beason put together good seasons when healthy and needs to do that again if he’s going to regain his Pro Bowl form.
Dynasty Recap – Week 13 – 49ers down Rams, 23-13
- 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick finally had all his weapons back but didn’t have as big a day as dynasty leaguers would have liked. Going 19 of 28 for 275 yards and a touchdown, and tacking on 21 yards rushing, Kaepernick is capable of playing better. It’ll be interesting to see what his production is the rest of the year.
- Rams rookie running back Zac Stacy had a decent game considering the competition and circumstances. Rushing 19 times for 72 yards, Stacy has an outside shot at 1,000 yards even though he wasn’t named the starter until October. He’ll be rated as a RB1 heading in to 2014.
- 49ers receiver Anquan Boldin had a good game with nine catches for 98 yards. Boldin is in a contract year and, most likely, playing somewhere else next year. It also, again, raises the question of just who Kaepernick will be throwing to in 2014.
- Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis is on pace for ‘just’ 120 tackles. But at just 27, he’s still a low-end LB1 or high-end LB2 and consistently gets tackles. Rookie linebacker Alec Ogletree is definitely flashier but Laurinaitis is more consistent.
Dynasty Recap – Week 13 – Broncos shut down Chiefs, 35-28
- Broncos rookie running back Montee Ball impressed with 117 yards on just 13 carries while incumbent Knowshon Moreno ran for just 18 yards on 15 carries. Moreno’s came in to the game nicked up but it’s encouraging that Ball was so productive against a decent defense and, maybe most importantly, didn’t turn the ball over. More performances like that and Ball will have some momentum heading in to the 2014 season.
- Broncos receiver Eric Decker was Peyton’s man-crush this week with eight receptions for 174 yards and a ridiculous four touchdowns. Not to be outdone Demaryius Thomas had 106 yards on just three catches. You really can’t go wrong with either one.
- Chiefs middle linebacker Derrick Johnson had nine more tackles to bring his season total to 92. Johnson is signed relatively cheap through 2015 so Johnson should continue to put up LB1 tackle numbers.
