- The Rams pounded the ball with Zac Stacy, giving him the ball 33 times for 104 yards, and a touchdown. Stacy will be an intriguing RB2 dynasty prospect heading in to 2014 and the Rams have shown they’re committed.
- Rams rookie receiver Stedman Bailey led the team in targets and catches with three out of five targets for 44 yards. He also had a 27 yard touchdown run. It wasn’t much but Bailey should be monitored in dynasty circles.
- Buccaneers receiver Vincent Jackson had five catches for 98 yards. Jackson is at 1,000 yards again with a 15+ YPC. Should Tampa draft a quarterback in the draft, Jackson’s stock will improve.
- Rams lineman Robert Quinn led the defense with three more sacks. He now has a league-leading 18 on the year and is establishing himself as the top-rated lineman in dynasty leagues.
- Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David had 11 more tackles, giving him 137 for the year. He also added a fumble recovery. David is solidifying himself as a Tier 1 LB in dynasty heading in to 2014.

Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Jets beat Browns, 24-13
- Today was a good day with Geno Smith going 20 of 36 for 214 yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 48 yards rushing. Depending on coach Rex Ryan’s future, Smith could be back as the starter next year.
- Jets running back Chris Ivory had 109 yards on 20 rushes, showing dynasty owners what he’s capable of when given the chance. He’ll be a low-end RB2, high-end RB3 next year.
- Browns receiver Josh Gordon bounced back a little with six catches for 97 yards. He’s firmly entrenched as a Tier 1 receiver for 2014 and the settling of the quarterback situation should only solidify that.
- Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson had 11 more tackles for 132 on the year. There were some questions about Jackson adjusting to the new 3-4 defensive scheme but he’s squashed those. He’ll be a LB1 heading in to 2014.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Cowboys escape Redskins 24-23
- Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray ran for 96 yards on 22 carries for a 4.4 YPC with three catches for 15 yards. Murray is extremely effective this year with a 5.5 YPC. If the Cowboys do make a coaching move, hopefully the new regime utilize him more.
- Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon had 11 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. With his age and talent, Garcon is a low-end WR1 heading in to 2014 but is more of a high-end WR2. Washington should also solidify its quarterback situation as well.
- Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter led the team in tackles with 11. Carter’s had an uneven season and is highly questionable to return with many changes expected in the Cowboys defense.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 Recap – Broncos destroy Texans, 37-13
- Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning had a great day with 400 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. No words.
- Broncos receiver Eric Decker went off with 10 catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns. So did Demaryius Thomas with eight catches for 123 yards and another touchdown. They probably won a few teams some championships.
- Texans rookie tight end Ryan Griffin had five more catches for 66 yards as the starter. Griffin is an interesting asset in dynasty leagues as Houston will look to re-build next year and Griffin’s youth and cheap contract will look attractive.
Dynasty Recap – Week 16 – Panthers come back against Saints, 17-13
- Saints quarterback Drew Brees went 30 of 44 for 281 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. This game won’t squash the notion that Brees can’t produce outside the friendly confines of the Super Dome. He’s still a QB1 but don’t expect the world when Brees is on the road.
- Saints running back Mark Ingram had an ‘up’ day in his up-and-down season. He ran for 83 yards on 13 carries. He has a 4.6 YPC so all is not lost this season. He’s under contract for one more year to prove himself a viable option in New Orleans.
- Panthers tight end Greg Olsen led the team in targets and receptions, hauling in four catches on seven targets for 35 yards. Olsen is, without a doubt, Cam Newton’s favorite target this year. If the Panthers ignore the receiving corps (again), Olsen will enter 2014 as a TE1 again.
- Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly had an incredible 24 tackles and a pass defended. Kuechly has had a sub-par season compared to last year but all that means is he’s a top-ten linebacker in dynasty instead of top-five.
Dynasty Recap – Titans squeak by Jaguars, 20-16
- Titans running back Chris Johnson had a decent day, running for 90 yards on 22 carries. The 4.1 YPC is above his season average of 3.7 but don’t expect this to give CJ another chance next year. He’s widely expected to be cut.
- Titans receiver Kendall Wright had four catches for 22 yards on seven targets. But he passed 1,000 yards for the year and has 85 catches with little to no quarterback help. He’ll be a highly rated dynasty receiver next year.
- Jaguars middle linebacker Paul Posluszny had a half sack. ‘Pos’ will be 20 heading in to next year but is still producing at a high level and not making much more than this year. He’s a reliable LB1.
Daily Dynasty Update – December 21st
- Bears rookie linebacker Jon Bostic may end up on the outside instead of manning the middle linebacker position. Bostic was hyped as the heir to Brian Urlacher in Chicago and was highly rated in dynasty circles before the season. Unfortunately, his dynasty value may have peaked.
- Packers tight end Brandon Bostick is done for the season but you may want to pick up if you’re in a deep dynasty league. Incumbent tight end Jermichael Finley might not play football again and the position is wide-open in 2014.
- Texans rookie tight end Ryan Griffin could start again for Houston this weekend. Griffin is an interesting dynasty prospect being young and at least the back-up heading in to next year if not the starter. Hell, he’s even a decent play for this week’s dynasty championships.
Daily Dynasty Update – December 20th
- Eagles running back Bryce Brown is now the third stringer behind LeSean McCoy and Chris Polk. Talent-wise, Brown still has what it takes to be a dynasty option, especially for McCoy owners. He’ll be a buy-low candidate heading in to 2014.
- Future dynasty quarterback Johnny Manziel didn’t request a draft evaluation from the NFL. As Rotoworld points out, this could mean he’s already made up his mind. I don’t know of a mock draft out there that’s not including Manziel in.
Daily Dynasty Update – December 19th
- Raiders rookie running back Latavius Murray is next in line to play running back in 2014. If he’s available in your dynasty leagues, pick him up now before someone else does (as someone did in my league…bastards).
- Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul might require another surgery in the off-season. JPP was J.J. Watt before J.J. Watt was J.J. Watt but the injuries, and surgeries that accompany them, are starting to pile up.
- Jets receiver Santonio Holmes says he’s willing to take a pay cut to stay in New York. It won’t happen. He won’t be back in New York and he shouldn’t be back on your dynasty team.
Daily Dynasty Update – December 18th
- Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will have his eighth surgery, this one to repair his torn ACL/MCL. Gronk is as good as it gets at tight end but the injuries have piled up quick for the 24-year old. He’s the epitome of boom-or-bust.
- Lions quarterback Matt Stafford was never in danger of being pulled. In fact, it’s a joke it was even brought up. He’s still a QB1 in dynasty leagues but monitor the coaching change, if any, in Detroit for a new scheme.
- The Raiders coaches apparently have moved on from Terrelle Pryor. It’s odd as Pryor seemed to perform well while learning on the fly. He’ll be a non-factor in dynasty leagues next year.
- The Steelers may be ready to move on from linebacker LaMarr Woodley in the off-season. He carries a big price tag, has been injured a lot, and will be 29 entering the 2014 season. The Steelers seemingly have a backup plan with Jason Worilds and Jarvis Jones manning the outside.
