Dynasty Fantasy Football Recap – Week 6 – Panthers, Bengals tie 37-37

  • Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had a QB1 day with 284 yards passing, two passing touchdowns and an interception plus 107 yards rushing and another touchdown. If he can string more of these together, he’ll be in the top-tier again.
  • On the other side of the field, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton lit it up with 323 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and threw in 25 yards rushing. Dalton can be a low-end QB1 in dynasty formats.
  • Meanwhile, Bengals running back Gio Bernard had another RB1 day with 137 yards and a touchdown plus four catches for 20 yards. He’s entering the top RB conversation in dynasty formats.
  • Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly had a boring day with 13 tackles. He continues to be a LB1 in dynasty formats.

Dynasty Recap – Week 4 – Lions beat Jets 24-17

  • Lions quarterback Matt Stafford had a good day with 293 yards and two touchdowns without the assistance of Calvin Johnson. He could pass Cam Newton soon in dynasty rankings if he hasn’t already.
  • Jets running back Chris Ivory had 84 yards rushing with two catches for 16 yards and proved, again, that he is the top running back in New York. He’s a low-end RB2, more like a RB3 in dynasty formats.
  • Jets rookie tight end Jace Amaro had his best game of the year, catching all five of his targets for 58 yards. He may end up as the best rookie tight end in 2014 so take advantage while you can.
  • Lions receiver Golden Tate filled in nicely with eight catches for 116 yards. He’s a legit WR3 in all dynasty formats.

Dynasty Recap – Week 2 – Panthers pound Lions, 24-7

  • Despite being sacked five times, Cam Newton continues to show why he’s a top five dynasty quarterback with 281 yards passing and a touchdown. When healthy, he’s a stud.
  • Most of his passes were caught by Mr. Reliable Greg Olsen. He racked up six catches for 72 yards off eight targets. He continues to be a low-end TE1 in dynasty based on opportunity.
  • Meanwhile, Lions running back Joique Bell continues to be the running back to own in Detroit, leading the team with 10 carries for 36 yards plus six catches for 61 yards. However, he’ll never be higher than a RB2 in dynasty so temper your expectations.
  • On the IDP side, linebacker Stephen Tulloch had a big day with 10 tackles and a sack. The 29-year old Tulloch continues to be underrated and is a solid LB2 in dynasty.

  • NFL: New York Giants at San Diego ChargersTop five remains the same with Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Matt Stafford, and Drew Brees.
  • Only real riser this month was Philip Rivers from 17th to 14th. He will have receiver Malcolm Floyd back and another year or Keenan Allen. Rivers is more a high-end QB2 instead of a low-tier QB1.
  • Rookie Blake Bortles drops from 15 to 20. Bortles may be more polarizing than Johnny Manziel as far as what his value will ultimately be. He probably won’t go lower than the second round in dynasty rookie drafts.

brees

  • Top five remains the same but slightly different order. Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, and Cam Newton make up the top three. Drew Brees does drop a bit to five because of age and losing a few reliable weapons.
  • The only other noticeable drop was Tampa quarterback Mike Glennon thanks to the Josh McCown signing. It really doesn’t say a lot when you bring in a better quarterback for the second season of a young quarterback.
