Lions running back Joique Bell claims there’s interest on both sides for a long-term deal. Bell came on strong in place of an injured Reggie Bush throughout the season with over 50 catches and over 1,000 yards from scrimmage. A deal would be good news for Bell but would significantly hinder Reggie Bush’s dynasty value going forward.
New Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay loves his new tight end Jordan Reed. This will only enhance Reed’s value heading in to 2014. As a sufferer of a severe concussion last year, Reed’s health needs to be monitored especially playing such a busy position.
A crowded backfield in Philadelphia could mean someone is on the way out, according to a Philadelphia blog. Additionally, with both Chris Polk and Bryce Brown being on the roster before Chip Kelly’s tenure started, the same blog suggests he could find one better suited to his offense in the draft or free agency. Stay tuned as this looks like it might be a fluid situation.
Ravens running back Bernard Pierce had rotator cuff surgery and will miss the next 4-5 months. The recovery will impede his ability to get acclimated to new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak’s system. Pierce was one of the bigger disappointments after averaging 2.9 YPC last year after a terrific rookie season. If the Texans offense is any indicator, Pierce would play the Ben Tate role to Ray Rice’s Arian Foster – if he can stay healthy.
Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith’s downward slide continues, going 9 of 22 for 127 yards, two interceptions and zero touchdowns and even lost a fumble. Smith’s stock will never be lower if you’re still interested.
The Ravens running attack continues to struggle, averaging just 2.2 YPC between Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce. The Ravens need more playmakers on offense to take attention away from the run game otherwise Rice and Pierce will continue to get killed.
Jets rookie defensive tackle continues to impress with an incredible (for an interior lineman) nine tackles and half sack. Richardson looks like another Geno Atkins which means a productive defensive tackle for dynasty leaguers, a feat almost as rare as unicorns.
Ravens running back Bernard Pierce, starting in place of Ray Rice, failed to impress with only 2.7 YPC on 24 carries. Tap the break on the Pierce train.
Houston running back Ben Tate carried the ball nine times compared to 12 times for Arian Foster. His 4.0 YPC did nothing to dispel the notion that he’ll start somewhere next year. Trade for him this year if you can.
Houston receiver DeAndre Hopkins led the team with six receptions for 60 yards. He’s going to be a stud.
Baltimore rookie safety Matt Elam isn’t quite there yet with his tackle numbers after just five today.
J.J. Watt did J.J Watt things and had nine tackles to go along with a sack and
